What do you think of Deontay Wilder?

Needs to stop fighting bums, and get some food in him. He looks like a malnourished deer...

 

I don't know, simply too difficult to say with the level of fighters he has taken on.

Better than Hanks, worse than Mitchell right now. Probably will be the best out of the three, similar to Lennox Lewis is that he is a bit chinny but that will improve as his balance improves. He needs to put on some muscle and come in around 230-240. Would like to see him switch to the Emmanuel Stewart camp.

He would definatly, put David Price down.

 

Clearly he's good enough to KO cans but what does that tell us? Just about nothing. He looks like he's got good (and improving) technique and a nice straight. Good height but needs to put on more muscle especially in the legs.

 

I feel bad saying it, but I just don't think he will do much.

I don't like his body mechanics. I feel he doesn't have good hand eye mind coordination. When tired you can see his tendency to flail. I don't like how his neck and head, i.e., long thin and small, for the HW division. I don't feel he can take a good clean HW shot which he will eventually be hit with. Also, this makes him prone to luck shots.

I really hope he feeds me a big plate of crow, but... Good luck man!

 

He needs to gain weight first of all especially in his legs. It has been proven that muscle imbalances can cause glass chins.

 

I'm not amazed by him. He has shaky fundamentals and was wobbled in one of his recent outings by a no-name. His record leaves much to be desired (even at this stage) and shows no sign of getting better. Seth Mitchell seems to be the superior "Next US Heavyweight Destroys Klitbots!!!" candidate.

 

Everyone knows his chicken legs and soft competition will be his downfall, but let's not put him under the bus just yet.

He's still relatively young and growing. Surely his strength and conditioning coaches are working on his weaknesses, and his mgmt is working to get him bigger fights that they feel even with his weaknesses he can likely win with his superior punching prowess. :think

Wladimir Klitschko&Lennox Lewis are both Glass Jaws but it really did not stop them. Mental strength that is what it is all about.

 

Their Chins are nowhere near the level of pitiful that Wilder's is. The guy was knocked senseless by one of the Alabama bums he fought and he was starched in the amateurs. His Chin is bad enough that he might displace Kirkland as the #1 guy in the Glass Jaw Rankings when he finally steps up and gets savagely KOed.
