Wilder is a total fraud. He's been a pro for over FIVE YEAR and the "best" opponent he's fought is a washed-up Sergei Lyakhovich!atsch There's a REASON for that. He's simply not that good, and he has a glass jaw to boot - as some of his fights against the stiffs he's faced have shown. That anybody takes this JOKE seriously shows how gullible some members of the boxing public are. :yep
He's already ducking the top10 fighters calling him out publically. Him and his team are COMPLETE pussies.
Not really pussies, just good con men. They know that Wilder will get starched by the first live body he faces, so they want to continue building this phony record against stiffs until it's time for the big fight - and the inevitable shattering of Wilder's glass jaw.
I stand corrected. They're doing their job, really.. they're maximizing his chance for cashing out. If he stepped up, it'd look like Duane Bobick stepping to Ken Norton. If not worse, those stick legs are not going to hold up, wouldn't it be glorious to see some bum put him out cold?
He looks to me like the kind of guy who could KO almost anyone but could lose to almost all live bodies too, due to his dodgy-looking defense and chin. He could be in a lot of 'who lands first wins' type of fights. But essentially he is an unknown quantity.
Truly a magnificant fighter. Next ATG in my eyes. Hell maybe the next black president of the united states.
Duane Bobick is a perfect analogy. And as soon as Wilder meets his Norton, the same will happen to him.
He's got some decent power and a bit of size and athleticism, but his basics are flawed, and to compound that flaw he does not seem very durable. When he steps up, he's getting put right back down... and out.
If he is kept on the right track and brought along slowly with the right management, he'll skills will improve and he will pick up some boxing skills to go along with his KO power. If he is thrown in the mix too quickly and in it for a quick payday like Fury and other pretenders, he'll just become a fringe contender.
He's good enough to win one of the titles. But there are a few guys who can beat him, e.g. Dereck Chisora, Tyson Fury and Kubrat Pulev. His managers need to pick opponents who have a style that he can beat. I think Wilder beats Stiverne and Arreola. So he should fight one of them for a title when the chance presents itself.
On what basis? Either Stiverne or Arreola are light years better fighters than the stiffs and has-beens Wilder has padded his record with. Stiverne and Arreola would both shatter Wilder's glass jaw. ****, if guys like Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers can put this china chinned fraud on the canvas, just imagine what a hard-hitting top rated HW would do!!!
