he doesn't have warm ups in his gym, its straight to work when the fighters arrive.

no tapering down, intense workouts all the way till the day before the fight.

no jump ropes allowed in his gym! he thinks its a wast of time and that fighters use jump rope as a way to take rest while looking busy.

pad work similar to roger mayweather where he slaps his gloves on his fighters hands.

no/little sparring in preparation for a fight, and when he does let his fighters spar its always against each other.

although enzo has had success i believe his methods are alittle flawed, enzo calzaghe has never fought before, he doesn't know what its like to not taper down before a fight and not have warm ups before training, i also think he doesn't recognize the importance of jumping rope, sure he made joe calzaghe but joe calzaghe would have been where he is at even without enzo.

This seems odd. Now that we know what he doesn't allow, what kind of training does he do that led Joe to all those wins?

It can't be that Mayweather style pad work, where the coach gets more of a workout than the boxer.

bag work, padwork, sprints, sprints on stairs, punches with a resistance bands.

if you go on youtube and search something like 'joe calzaghe training' or 'maccarinelli training' you'll see the pad work.

So what does he actually have his fighters DO?
That leaves... speedbag, doubleend bag, heavy bag?
Punches with resistance bands are probably the biggest waste of time in the world, ever.
    Sprints fair enough!

WTF? If to relieve the stress, fair enough, but football fitness doesn't transfer to boxing at all - I've seen evidence of that enough times!

my sources are a few youtube clips and the macca-haye fight promo where the presenter guy goes to both camps and watches them train.

am i the only one who watched haye - macca?

Well I guess if it works it's hard to argue with success. I think it depends on the fighter, as you said Joe would still be champ if trained by about anyone. He has the tools simple as that. I'm sure we have all seen the fighter/s that look like world beaters on the bag or pads but can't put it together in the ring. But his methods do sound unorthodox for sure.

the training looks very intense no doubt, its just the no warm up and no tapering that seems alittle weird.

actually it looked pretty intense, its like a punch out but with resistance bands which is tied on a bracket thingy.

I think a lot of fighters make it to the top despite their trainer, not because of him.

there is no one size fits all training routine maybe that should be the moral of the story here
