He just asked Nate Diaz for a ten million dollar payday to rematch in the octogon!!! Dude knows he's gonna lose, much like toney vs couture, but he sees the bigger picture, the moolah!

Will Nate tap him in asap? He's never played this sport before... But speaking of Nate: he has a granite chin is a GOOD boxer with underated stamina. At 38 he went a full ten rounds for crying out loud, and did not get kod, Paul better start practicing leg kicks: front kicks side kicks, back kicks just like JT.

Say what you will about Paul but he is a massive promoter/ influencer/ businessman! Like Mike Tyson said "he's good for the sport of boxing".

There's no way Jake learns anything in a few months to defend Nate's experience in MMA.

If it touches the ground Jake doesn't last longer than 30 seconds.

Honestly, Jake has a decent shot at beating Nate in MMA. Hes probably been training MMA stuff on the side for a while. You can tell its his first love. And stylistically Nate is not a very high IQ fighter. He will most likely literally just box with Jake in the cage. He doesnt kick, he doesnt aggressively look for takedowns even though his ground game is very good. If Jake doesnt **** up doing something dumb like putting himself into grappling situations and just keeps mobile and boxes he can win that fight.

If it goes to the ground, yeah Nate taps him very quickly.

Theres also the factor of what weight Jake fights at in MMA. Is he really gonna cut down to 170 which is where he belongs? I doubt it. The guy was at 185ish for his last fight and I assume hes fighting at pretty much his walking weight. The guys that fight at 185lbs in MMA nowadays are typically ****ing massive and usually cutting a lot of weight.

Nate doesnt really bother trying to take people down though. He is not some strong explosive wrestler type who is gonna chase someone down, dump them on their ass and beat the **** out of them. Jake potentially has the ability to avoid grappling being a factor if he stays sharp.

What? Jake has been boxing for 4 years, 0 in MMA.

Nate Diaz has beaten guys like McGregor, Cerrone, Jim Miller, MJ, and Pettis. Jake stands absolutely no chance.

He either gets pieced up on the feet due to Jake being scared of the TD threat or he gets dragged to the canvas and subbed in a round. MMA is a different beast to boxing with no training.

Jake was posting videos rolling with AJ Agazarm before he ever had a boxing match. Pretty sure he was a college wrestler too. His brother was at least. Hes signed that PFL deal too, but you think he isnt training MMA stuff in preparation?

I cant stand Jake and am overall more of an MMA fan than boxing fan, but some of you guys are gonna be unpleasantly surprised if he fights Nate in MMA I think. Jake is fully in control of his career and is not gonna be taking fights he doesnt feel he has a very good chance of winning. If he is willing to face Nate in MMA theres a reason for that.

Paul wrestled in High School but didn't excel at it as his brother Logan was.

For his MMA training, he probably did a few lessons here and there but definitely, nowhere near enough dedication for sure, he did purely boxing training camps for his fights with Tommy, Woodley, Silva, and Nate. No matter what he dedicates himself too in 3 months the 20-year experience gap is too much.

If you believe it's somewhat more competitive than what people think on the feet then fair enough, if you believe Jake beats Nate in MMA I think you would be the one unpleasantly surprised.

Nate is the same speed as ****ing Joe Joyce while being half the size, is pushing 40, would probably be fighting at 185lbs when most of his success was at 155lbs and even there he was considered pillow fisted. Then add to that the stylistic match up, like do you guys think Nate is gonna sprint across the cage and launch some explosive power double on Jake or something? since when has Nate been some great takedown guy who aggressively forces fights to the ground? since when has he been a guy that blasts people with low kicks either?

To clarify, i'm not saying Jake definitely wins, i'm not even saying hes the favourite. What I am saying is if Jake takes that fight its because he and his team have identified factors that make him feel he has a good shot at winning. At the end of the day the guy has a brand to protect and understands calculated risk and stacking the deck in his favour. Hes not gonna fight some actual legit 185lb'er who he doesnt have multiple physical advantages over and who would aggressively wrestle and/or kick.

MMA for years was beating up on old washed up boxers. Making boxing look bad. I am glad Paul returns the favor.

I believe he had like one amateur fight. For a guy with only 10 pro fights he hasn’t fought the worst competition.

He is annoying when he talks though.

If Jake was some guy who had been training martial arts for 10 years I'd understand your take but we are talking about someone who has never had an amateur MMA fight let alone a professional MMA fight.

It doesn't mean much now but he got dominated as he has gotten better athletically and with boxing but he got smashed in the cage which doesn't show any wrestling instincts.

I don't think Nate is a Micheal Chandler explosive TD artist but your telling me you can't see Nate clinching Jake up and pulling a guillotine? He doesn't do that to professional fighters who can defend that easily but he definitely can and would with Jake Paul.

Yes, I can see that happening. I can also see Jake landing a big shot on him with 4oz gloves and no counts and stopping him before grappling becomes a factor in the fight. You really think its that far fetched?
