If this was a 2023 Tony Ferguson I could get behind you, but, you believe that Benson Henderson, RDA, Conor McGregor, Anthony Pettis, Masvidal (I know the cut, but in pure boxing), and current WW champion Leon Edwards couldn't finish Nate Diaz, but Jake Paul could?
It isnt as simple as that. Other than the Leon fight those fights were a long time and a lot of mileage ago. Also while hes obviously nowhere near as skilled as any of them as far as overall MMA skills, styles make fights, Nate likes to stand and box with people in MMA and Jake is bigger than most of them and probably punches harder than all of them. I mean he just dropped Nate hard, completely slept Woodley and stopped Askren quickly, three guys who have rarely been hurt with punches in their MMA careers, and he did it with boxing gloves and counts. He probably has higher end punching power even by MW standards in MMA, and thats combined with having relatively solid boxing skills. If you dont take his ass down fast or at least heavily utilise a kicking game you are gonna be in danger against him.
Paul loses to Diaz in an octagon. The fight won't ever get made though, JP knows he can make way more money in a boxing ring fighting youtubers for much less trouble.
