I don't know if he never learned how to slip punches or what but if he allows Gamboa to hit him as often as he let Luevano then he's in for trouble. I can't believe that a fighter who many would call the best featherweight in the world landed only a few more punches than a fighter who is good but not in the same class. If Lopez wants to be the best he had better do it by protecting that chin. Does anyone think I'm being overly critical or did you notice the fact that he got hit way too often?
It's leaky and it's easy t osee that. But after 2 rounds last night he did get in a rythm moving his head and kept his hands up to block a good amount of what Luevano was throwing.
i saw him buckle twice, specifically in the 4th round by a left hand from luevano. he's definitely getting knocked out by gamboa and early unless he learns how to slip punches. edit: not necessarily "buckle", but they definitely got his attention.
