The key to fighting Pacquiao is turn him, avoid the left, time him. Can you turn this into a novella?

This is where the incongruity lies. Professional trainers are better at coming up with gameplans than us, but those plans don't mean much when Floyd adapts and their fighter can't.

I think many trainers have great ideas on how they would have their guy fight Floyd, but the fighter ends up being unable to pull it off.

The point I'm making is that you don't need more than a couple of sentences to get a point across. You said that you could only come up with 1 page of tactics to fight Mayweather.

Also, what would you have Floyd do? Try and walk Pac down?

I think Marquez went up in weight too fast for the Mayweather fight, He went straight up from fighting Diaz at 135 to fighting Mayweather at 147

In contrast to the Pacquiao fight Marquez came off a great win against Katsidis and then stepped up to 140 against Ramos but despite the way that fight ended it still gave him time to grow into the higher weight

That being said styles make the fights and I dont think Marquez would have done significantly better against Mayweather had he not ballooned up, youve got a bigger counter puncher against a smaller one so Marquez was never going to win

With Pacquiao you got a guy that likes to turn and dodge using footwork, throwing weird angles with a fast punch output which is confusing for any fighter, even Marquez but the fact that he has been able to adjust to this fighting style from their first encounter gave him the edge in experience to look so good and in many eyes including my own beat Pacquaio 8 - 4

But that being said Team Pac picked Marquez because of how bad he looked against Mayweather at the weight and the fact that it was 2 years on hoping to catch him out of his prime . . . kinda backfired a little bit

    1. How dare you. :bart I train children! One of them will grow to be a P4P superstar and I will mention none of you in my interview with Ring Magazine.

    2. Yup, everything you said is spot on sir :good

I like to be articulate :D If I do a fight breakdown I usually cover everything from camp, to press confrence to the fight.

Yes sir, high guard, come forward.

Lots of things working against him, but it's interesting to think that he was able to land a few clean shots in most rounds, despite losing practically each one, whereas other fighters can't get anything going once Floyd adjusts.

Zero consideration whatsoever for the fact that Marquez hired a former Balco guy who changed his name and boasted about having created 20+ PEDs that are completely undetectable? How about Marquez's physical transformation within a short period of time?

Not in the Mayweather gym it ain't. There is a school of thought that tucking your chin can actually limit speed...

Floyd gets KO'd if he does that, ESPECIALLY if he decides that he wants to trade.

In fact, that would be the absolute last approach Floyd would take in a Pacman fight.

    STYLES MAKE FIGHTS.

Guys who try to walk Pac down get stopped. Hatton was stopped. Margarito could have been stopped, but Pac chose not to. Pac is a buzzsaw and loves to trade. That's why Pac would destroy Rios, but Rios would present big problems for Marquez.

I mean he survived that saying something since Mayweather has been punishing the people he fights
