He was in there with a God. What was he supposed to do?

But that's more to do with the fact that Manny won his first belt at about four and a half stone.

This is'nt rocket science. Mayweather simply held all the physical advantages over Marquez. Height, reach, quickness, speed, power....
Plus he was several years younger and closer to prime than Marquez.

Want to add more? Marquez was going up two weight classes past a divisiion he never crossed.

Marquez physical conditioning as far as stamina is concerned vs Mayweather was fine.

Thanks to Heredia, Marquez put on leaner mass for the Pacquiao fight.
Imo that Marquez may have done slightly better against Mayweather but not enough to take him over the top and have made it a competitive fight.

Marquez is not a welterweight and Mayweather simply is.

I've said many times. Had the roles been reversed and it was Marquez the younger fighter, and it was Marquez in his weight class with Mayweather moving up two weight divsions?????

Lets not pretend weight classes dont matter and point to skill being the factor just because Mayweather is skilled. So is Marquez for that matter.
Even with Mayweather's physical height, reach, quickness, and speed advantage, Marquez would have torn Mayweather a new ******* fighting in a weight class comfortable to him and foreign to Mayweather.:deal

    Actually no!
If Mayweather was that confident in himself he'd be fighting Martinez, a fighter who's on a role and fighting at the top of his game for awhile now, instead of taking on who many consider touched and past his prime in the slower and easier to figure out Cotto.

A fighter wants to be considered the best he has to fight the best and Mayweather simply is not!:deal

Martinez is probably next for Mayweather.

Take Mayweather from the Corrales fight, put him in with Marquez from the Pacquiao fight, you think mayweather is held to a sub 20% connect percentage?

Who does Floyd fight after Cotto though? I believe it will be Martinez.

    Canelo is already lined up.

Could be Canelo. I just feel he is third on the list of priorities with Pac and Martinez ahead of him.

That sounds more like a fight Mayweather would chose, instead of a bigger and powerful southpaw who is good at swiveling his waist on defense.

Sergio got a big dick, too. Might distract Floyd.

How about making Mayweather a 36 year old junior lightweight and have him come up two weight divisions and face a Marquez 4 or 5 years younger than he at 140 lbs????
