I'm a pacfan and i'm getting worried about his training style.
B4 izzy losing to rafa, odlh losing and now b-hop. Do you think pac deserves a better trainer that can sharpen his 1-dimensional ways??I was thinking actually of steward handling pac..Opinions? Is it better for pac to leave roach?:think

Sorry about mt thread title it's quite misleading. My real question is, is it good for pac to leave roach after all the losses roach did on his "sons"?

you question Roach´s cred based on some of his fighters recently loosing and then you mention Steward as an alternative that doesnt make much sense.
i think it would be a huge mistake for Pac to leave Roach, they work very well together and i dont know if another trainer would be able to motivate Pac like Roach does with all the distractions Pac has nowadays.

Roach is a great offensive minded trainer, which is perfect for pacman.
plus manny respects him, they have good chemistry.

some fighters click with certain trainers and other fighters using the same trainer just don't click.

Roach is manny's trainer, i think he's doing a good job too. He's come along way since joining with Roach, i think manny's better for it. steward would ruin him.

Yep... Basically, most fighter who switch trainers midstream lose something in the Process... For example Naz Hamed.

I've never thought much of Roach to be honest. Wasn't he kind of a Arturo Gatti type fighter with a shitty record by the end of his career? If I was to have a boxer-trainer in my corner it would be one who actually had a very good record like Ray Leonard.

At the same, just because a fighter had a good record doesn't mean he will be a good trainer.

I think he's a quality trainer. Maybe more of a gym strategist than a great corner instruction guy, but he clearly knows the sport and is a calming presence in the corner.

Trainers can only do so much, fighters still have to fight and execute, just because your guy doesn't win every time out does not make you a bad trainer.

I have seen alot of imrpovement in Pac but not as much as Roach says. Manny is still really just winning because of his big advantage in speed and strength over his opponents. He is a freak of nature and Roach really cant do anymore with him.
I have a feeling once Pac starts losing that milli second in speed and a little bit of strength he will need a better trainer. Someone who teaches great technique. Its funny but i think When that does happen Nacho Beristain is the way to go.

Freddie has done a much better job with Pacquiao than Manny Steward has done with Wlad. If Wlad fought a heavyweight remotely as skilled as JMM, he'd get torched.

So yes, I think Freddie carries an assload of credibility. Manny, much less these days.
