The Ring was, for a long time, boxing's premier publication - but with the firing of Nigel Collins and his staff, it has become a total JOKE. It's sad, really. I hope somebody buys it from these clowns and restores it to its glory someday.

Okay, not trying to argue but I do have to ask. I have seen a number of people on here saying what you are saying as well and since you are the most recent one to say it I want to ask you this: How? How has it become some joke? What has changed to make it bad? Maybe I don't hold the same standards or something but I get The Ring in my mailbox every month and it doesn't seem any different to me than it has been in at least the last 10 years that I've been steadily purchasing them? Give me some sturdy examples of what you mean, I'm genuinely curious. I'm always so excited just to get my magazine and read it, apparently I am overlooking something.

When ODLH bought the magazine, I terminated my subscription. I haven't looked back since.

The columnists are far, far worse. They replaced qualified boxing writers like Jeff Ryan, Ivan Goldman, and most of all William Dettloff, with a bunch of hacks who write like kids from a high school newspaper.

The features are shorter, have less depth, and are just of overall lesser quality. And the writing, in general, has been "dumbed down."

Nigel Collins was an institution in this sport, longtime editor and writer, a respected figure in the sport. The guys are they have running it now are hacks.

This months issue is pretty decent.

But the feature on Andre Ward being their fighter of the year made me laugh. They wrote:

Ward did not have the luxury of choosinghis next opponent, VENUE, or a convenientcatc-weight to set his foe at some disadvantage.
