Honestly I am not sure what kind of punishment there should be.

I am 100% sure that most, if not all top athletes in big money sports,
are looking to do anything to give them an edge. And that edge does
not have to be at all legal. I am convinced, that everything they know
(or think) they can get away with unnoticed, is used.

The problem with harsh punishment for drug cheats, is that you mostly
hit the poor and stupid. The rich can afford consultation that allows them
to go supersaiyan-drugged-up-to-the-gills without detection. It's just
    newer drugs and sneakier methods.

Scientist manufacturers of state of the art PEDS will ALWAYS be
leagues ahead of poorly funded mediocre drug testing scientists.

A bit of a catch 22 if you ask me.

I saw onbriancambell's chat Wednesday that he said we all would be appaled by finding out how many and who were on peds in boxing, I don't think its vastly different than mma, where (allegedly) it's around 70 to 80%.

I would not be surprised or appalled at all. Quite hypocritical to think
that could not be the case. But of course, all our favorite fighters are
clean, especially if they take convenient cycling breaks, or are afraid of
    needles.

    True.
I feel at the multimillion dollar level, with the means and capacity, to do so... At this point it should be fairly obvious.

There are certain cultures such as Britain, where the vast majority of people think cheating is a definite no-no. Whereas countries such as America have that attitude (look at the difference in poster opinion for example)- most US poster are "meh, everyone's at it, so what?", whereas UK posters are outraged by it.

Notice how since the PED scandal in cycling the UK have been able to compete? It's because everyone is now on a level playing field, and our cyclist are getting the benefit of hard training. I'm 100% most top UK athletes aren't cheating.

The sad thing is, that sounds like you are going too easy on them, but that's harsher than what most PED disgraces get now :-(

Question- what do you think the punishment should've been, if for example, Kovalev tested positive for 'roids after he killed someone in the squared circle. :think

You are entitled to believe whatever tickles your fancy Hans. I call that
either a feeble attempt at trolling to keep the thread going, or naivety.
Of course, I have no solid proof.

Also notice how the UK all of the sudden with the Olympics in their own
country was performing through the roof? Must have been nationalistic
    feelings according to you?

Could not possibly have been money streaming in to use for PEDs huh?

The way boxing treats PED's abusers is pathetic.. Mosely, Vitali,Evander, Tony, now most of TMT fighters have all been proven to have used PED's. Plus many others
What punishment did they receive?? Nothing Nada Ziltch Hell some of them are being hailed as shoe ins for the HOF :patsch
Tony Margaritio was suspended for nearly 2 years & had his career ruined & his good name trashed on a blatant LIE!!! No plaster blocks were ever there only in an evil demented persons mind,
No plaster was discovered on the lab testing either.
Boxing is more corrupt today than it ever was in the 50's :tired

I've notice as drug testing has improved, the UK have improved in the Olympics now

In 1996 in the USA we finished 36th (when only two people in the whole competition was caught juicing)
In 2000 and 2004 we finished 10th (when many more athletes got caught)
In 2008 we was 4th (whe the moto was "ZERO TOLERANCE ON DOPING")
    In 2012 we was 3rd.

So to move up one place is not really us performing through the roof. We got 18 more medals than 2008 but had 228 more athletes because we was the home nation.

The reason for our improvement is stricter drug testing has allowed for a more level playing field

OR, your athletes have learned how to cheat as well. You like to preach how clean it is over there with boxing, etc. Yet some fighters say they have never been tested or hardly tested.

Basically, everyone's dudu stinks. Stop pretending yours don't.

The UK is hardly a third world country so it's not like we wouldn't have known how to cheat in 1996 when we finished 36th- but we didn't because most don't do it. If you was from the UK you'd understand how disgraceful the idea is of cheating like that is, but your from the US and seem to embrace it. :-(

    Stop clutching at straws.

They didn't catch Pac so they can't catch everyone lol.... You turn down a 50/50 fight with Floyd and 60+ mil....! They shouldn't have let Pac get off and allow Arum to get Pac out of the fight. On a side not they should've tested Pac's ass by force lol.
