What do u think the pound for pound top ten will be like at the end of 2008?

I belive it will look like this

1.Joe Calzaghe (A win against Hopkins n Roy Jones Jr in 2008 would be more impressive than a win over de la hoya for mayweather)
2.Flyod Mayweather (if the only fight he is having is agaist De La hoya then to me that aint enough to hold onto the top spot)
3.Kelly Pavlik (after a another impressive Ko victory over jermain taylor he will have a busy year defending his title 3 or 4 times)
4.Juan Manuel Marquez (after a in over Pacquio this will move him straight into the top 4)
5.Miguel Cotto (after a impressive Ko victory over Gomez he will face another mandatory challenger but i still cant see him getting his fight with Mayweather)

how do u think the top 5 will look like at the end of 2008

    3. Pacquiao
    4. Pavlik
    5. Cotto

So all Mayweather is going to do this year is beat an old De La Hoya, even if he does it impressively it still not much of an accomplishment. Welterweight is loaded and the champ refuses to fight. Calzaghe at 35 is on a mission to seal his legacy and Mayweather at 30 is looking to retire.

ofcourse he can , if mayweather is inavctive then why should a inactive fighter be allowed to stay at number 1

when joe is a very active fighter fightin roy jones , b hop n maybe pavlik/taylor that sounds a hell of lot better than 1 de la hoya

Doesnt make sense. You referred to "the" pound for pound list by end of 2008 and not "your" pound for pound list by 2008 therefore Im assuming you mean the official p4p rankings by Ring. In that case JMM is already #3, how could he possibly be 4th after beating pacquiao?

Even if this was "your" p4p list, noway of justiying Pavlik above JMM should JMM beat Pacman. He would be beating the no.2 p4p whereas Pavlik would be beating a guy he already beat thats not even top 10 p4p right now.

yea i know what you mean! well i go by my list yea i made a mistake of wrighting THE pound for pound meaning it should be ranked as ring! but yea i ment your pound for pound list! i was in quie a rush! anyways pavlik will fight a few different fights he will be far more active and if he continues his impressive Kop ratio against say winky wright! then wow hes up there! like i said i belive pavlik will fight the best he can find and if he beats some of the best moddleweights or even moves up in weight! so if pavlik figths the best in which jermain taylor, winky wright and arther abraham! which to me them 3 in 1 year is better than 1 win over manny pacquio then i can see him becoming a very high number at the end of 2008

It's funny when people say, "Why should Mayweather retain number one spot if he's going to be inactive?" Basically this is asserting the fact that you still believe he is the best, deserving of the number one spot, but for reasons beyond his actual ability, you are docking him marks. Sure, remove him for inactivity, but take him right OFF of the list. He doesn't become "third best in the world" based on being inactive. Take him right off of the list....
