Did he really train? Was it tactical? Was it just an honest ***** up? :think

Kebabs, cakes, beer, donuts, doritos, sodas while being a money grabbing slob that wanted one big last pay day so he could pay child support.

Just a really big and stupid **** up. There was no advantage to be had from coming in overweight, you need to be sharp vs Ward and being slow in the ring will have a negative effect on your punches. Say what you like about Smith but he was a always a true pro, obviously he is quite rightly getting stick for the weight Saturday night but he was there to try to win but more importantly to collect that nice cheque and he go fined large amounts of that so the game plan idea just sounds ridiculous to me.

not tactical he would have needed to be at his very sharpest just to compete with ward not overweight! I think it was a combination of it wasn't a title fight never tried to make a catch weight before and just took the weight issue lightly and slipped up , you don't fight andre ward and lose 60000 of purse money on purpose basically it was just a pay day testing himself against the best but ended up losing lots of money and looking terrible bad job all round

If he thought his best chance of beating an inactive Ward was coming in bigger then it just might explain the gamble. His stock would've risen massively with that win.

He's getting a lot of stick but it was only a catchweight after all and he went 9 rounds and was brave.

    Fukc off he was brave.

Every brit that gets their ass brutally beaten is somehow brave.

He got mauled because he couldn't be bothered to get into shape.

Nothing brave about being a bum.

    Just a lazy ass chancer.

Didn't complain about the stoppage, if he was brave he'd have made sure he took his 12 round beating like a man.

And ward isn't a power puncher, he's a pure boxer.

Smith serves as a good human punch bag but that's it.

A calorie surplus, It's really that simple. Calorie deficit you lose weight, calorie maintenance you stay the same, calorie surplus you gain weight. Paul took in more calories than he burned off, not much to explain.

Watched the fight. Some ridiculous posts on here. Not smiths biggest fan but he took his licks and deserved the pay day for taking the beating alone. The weights probably just been a mistake with the catchweight. To a domestic/euro level fighter wards punch power definetely isnt weak thats all their is too it tbh. When the skill difference is that big theirs not a lot you can do. The minute smith tried to open up he would have been made to pay for it badly. Hes been cagey and threw a couple of shots in during the round hoping to catch ward with something. Its about the only hope he had tbh. People need to realise the skill discrepency between the two
