i hope you enjoy of this clown: by ponysmallhorse: " How come every Foreman fan(bar mr.bill) is complete ******?" "Is foreman some Great finisher? Is foreman 1 punch KO artist? No. Punch for punch Lewis hits harder, much better finisher and much better over all. 1 thing that foreman may have above Lewis is chin." "foremans not top 10 puncher, he is not top (this is one is an opinion but still) top 10 atg, he is NOT beating Vitaly at any state of his pathetic career. Have a nice day." "I can name 15 HW who has more one punch power than foreman Lewis is one of them." after saying this bunch of **** , he can sleep very well
I'm a huge Foreman fan, but why are you doing this? If you don't like his comments, then just ignore them and move on. No need to start a thread over it.
Starting a thread because someone has said something you didn't like is for the lounge. You need to calm down. Well said Magoo.
yes, obviously you are right, it would be correct and logic, simply i needed to expose this idiot. i have my favourite boxers but i never would insult the boxing saying this ****. I have differences with other persons in this forum, but all of them have knowledge. Never imagined that might exist an ignorant like him on this forum. this guy is a blind fan of vitali, but i never would insult vitali because he said this **** on foreman, i think that vitali is a good boxer.
Punch for punch, George Foreman is very possibly the most devastating two-handed puncher ever. But his accuracy and speed (not to mention stamina) were not top-rate, so greats such as Dempsey, Louis, Tyson and Lewis may be more dangerous overall. As far as chin goes, I think people get confused because of George's second incarnation. After the San Juan born-again experience, I believe young champion Foreman and forty-four-year-old miracle worker Foreman are almost literally two different fighters, and should be considered separately. Old Foreman fought much more relaxed. This, plus persistence in chasing the crown and his legendary, abiding power on a young, cocky belt holder swept him to a title. His added bulk may have helped him absorb more punishment, but I'm not so sure his chin was any better than when he was in the prime of youth. Young Foreman is naturally the better and only version to consider when rating his abilities, and I don't consider his chin to be much better than Louis' or even Frazier's. I think he's on a second tier along with Holmes, Holyfield and Jack Johnson, below Chuvalo, Ali and Tyson. Ali's craft caught Foreman in Zaire, placed him on the canvas and exhaustion had a hand in keeping him there, but the facts are that Ali --not a heavy hitter-- was staggering Foreman as early as Round 3 with single shots. A psychological factor such as post-traumatic stress cannot be a significant factor when measuring a physical element such as the solidness of chin. Ron Lyle badly staggered Foreman with his first single right hand as early as Round 2, and forced him to collapse twice from heavy --but not exactly uniquely devastating-- shots. However! I must say I am impressed by Foreman's ultimate, utter refusal to go out against Lyle. There is a moment in the final round when Lyle is all over his staggering prey and Foreman suddenly seems to regroup mentally, as if shocked back to life by those horrible moments regretting Zaire, and gets a decisive flux of power! Lyle's shots are now bouncing off him, he starts throwing back like a madman and flattens Lyle. Stand there with Foreman and almost certainly be crushed. But a great, durable boxer/puncher with a straight right (and Joe Louis is one) in my opinion should be favored to drown George Foreman in deep waters.
you must be joking.... holyfield and holmes had better chin than tyson george foreman had absolutely better chin than mike tyson, joe louis and joe frazier. ali tried to knock him out early and ali could not do nothing. in 81 fights he was ko just 1time!!! by muhammad ali!!! because foreman was very tired, he took shots from joe frazier, ron lyle, ken norton, even in his 40s he took shots from gerry cooney, bert cooper, michael moorer, savaresse, shannon briggs, tommy morrison, alex stewart. it is simply ridiculous to say he did not have great chin. on joe louis... he was a great boxer the second best hw in my list. but styles make fights. joe louis might not take the bombs of foreman early, and foreman might well take the best shots from louis when george was not tired in the early rounds. louis was too static to avoid foreman, george did cut the ring very well. foreman did not have the best guard in his prime but he had iron chin in the first rounds and brutal strength to push louis back. i can see foreman winning by ko and early.maybe louis would study his style and he would have chance in the rematch. but foreman would ko him once for sure. and in my opinion foreman is the hardest puncher of all time(with shavers) and the strongest boxer ever. even tyson said "foreman was a killer he did hit much harder than i" holyfield said "nobody did hit me like foreman did" . he faced old foreman not a prime foreman. evander took shots from lewis, tyson, bowe, cooper, tua(sparring partner). article: Back in October of 1974, many respected boxing historians and ex-world champions said that they believed that George Foreman was the strongest and hardest punching heavyweight champion in boxing history – something that is endorsed by many even to this day. Former heavyweight greats Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis, who both knew a thing or two about punching, agreed that Foreman was the most powerful heavyweight they had ever seen. dempsey and louis saw baer,carnera,liston,shavers,marciano...
interview to oliver mccall: Boxinginsider.com: You are renowned for being able to take a big punch. Who was the hardest puncher you faced? Oliver McCall: “Bert Cooper. Left hook. That was the hardest punch that I ever felt and that I had to overcome. It felt like a truck had hit me. I never got hit by a truck but it felt like if a truck would have hit me.” Boxinginsider.com: Who else was up there? Lennox? Oliver McCall: "No, Lennox wasn’t one of the hardest punchers that I – Buster Douglas hit me harder than Lennox did. Right hand.” Boxinginsider.com: How about Tyson? He has to be up there? Oliver McCall: “Tyson’s right there too. Lennox would probably be about fifth.”
These are the sort of quotes and things I love hearing - keep them coming man - do you have the sources or the quotes from Dempsey & Louis about Foreman too?? Anything else you can get on Foreman (people's opinions on him etc) would be good he was a beast - the one's by McCall about Bert Cooper are good too - PS the way you started this thread was total comedy - had me in stitches - I say hats off to you I've wanted to post threads like this about some of the dudes on this forum aswell but never had the balls
Little known fact. Only two fighters had enough power to break the speedbag brackett at Gleason's Gym in New York. Pipino Cuevas & George Foreman.
:goodhttp://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/1638/why-didn-see-foreman-holmes-circa-1975/ in this article the man said dempsey and joe louis said that foreman was the most powerful hw that they had ever seen"
Great stuff man - amazing article - Foreman was just immense - my dad told me that leading up to the Ali fight he expected it to go no more than 2 rounds!!! And he was genuinely worried that Ali was going to get seriously hurt - scary stuff - one of my favourite quotes was about Foreman - can't remember by who - I'll have to try and dig it out and post it on here but it was by one of Foreman's training partners who said something along the lines of "Foreman has something called the anywhere punch, because anywhere it lands it breaks something he was a wrecking ball
