To answer the question, it has to be Kessler. If loses, at least he'd know he would never have beat JC. And if he wins.......

He should fight Bute next. Let kessler have a 'tune up' coz he's been out for too long now. Then if Froch beats Bute then at least Kessler would be 'ring fit'

This is a very good point actually. If Froch fights and beats Kessler next, that would put all sorts of pressure on Joe Calzaghe.

I think Froch need to play on his "Tough, Hard, Never Give in, Get hit to hit them back" reputation he now has with the Yanks. HBO and Goldenboyu wanted to build up Katsidis to be the new Arturo Gatti but it has not worked, maybe Froch can fill that void.

He should fight someone like Miranda, Andrade, Bika. All of those would be wars. Then move towards a Bute or Kessler unification at the end of 2010.

Also i dont get how looseing to Kessler proves he would loose to JC. They are completly different fighters.

Dont get me wrong i think both Kessler and JC beats Froch convinsingly, but still???

Fair point, but although it was a tough fight JC did beat kessler fairly handily in the end. If Froch struggled badly against him then he could be pretty sure he wouldnt have beat JC. It would also dis-spell any suggestion of the fight in the public eyes too.

I still dont think it would work, but he could at least make the claim.

Bika - already lost to calzaghe and bute

no gain unless he can stop him

ward-miranda winner next fortnight will be WBC mandatory

try and get winner in nottingham next sept/oct, get mandatory out the way, look for big fight

or fight some big puncher with straight forward style, let froch work on technical stuff a bit and fight sensibly

I think Ward will beat Miranda, become mandatory. But I think there will be alot of hassle making the fight. Ward being an Olympic gold medallist will probably want it at home. Maybe Showtime will help him. ie refusing to travel for froch-ward. who knows. Showtime will have US bias, unless they see Froch as a value for money commodity. If Froch can get the fast Ward at home, this is a great defence for him. A tricky fight but if Ward has any cracks he will show 'em in the lion's den. Froch certainly deserves to defend the title back home, and Hennessy deserves to make some money from a solid home title defence.

IMO Ward will enter in the Ring mag top 10 if he beats Miranda, and when Ring take Mundine (now a middle) out of their ratings.

Last time I saw the the ring 168 rankings they had Green in the top ten so clearly they are a load of bollocks though.

You are talking about the magazine that had Gavin Rees installed at number 3 after doing nothing more than beating a lethargic M'Baye.

I can see how he mnade it with the KO of De leon jr.

But sadly Green was ranked before that. It was a weird rating. I would have had Pascal in top 10 for extending Froch KOing Neivas and battering Ikeke.

Is Pavlik out of the question?

The telegragh said they were scheduled to have talks.
