What does a good result v Wallin look like for AJ?

Any win would be good. But to really get some buzz going a KO would help a lot.

A KO would one up him to Fury. That’s also why he should fight Ngannou.

 

Joshua doesn't need to give a fu*k.

All he needs is win via UD, on points.

If IT makes insecure pundits and haters mad doesn't really matter. They are only scared that AJ would seduce and bang their wifes whenever. )

 

Reckon he wins it wide on points and looks good but a bit cautious.

 

Ideally, Joshua would win by stoppage. That's always preferred.

Joshua went 12 with Jermaine Franklin and, while he scored a really nice KO over Helenius, Joshua got pretty marked up (bruises around both eyes) by the jab. Wallin is better than both, so you'd like to see some improvement.

Wallin doesn't hit hard. But he lands a lot. He's a classic spoiler and can keep a lot of rounds close.

Their amateur fight has floated around online for years. Here's an old video below. Granted, it was many many years ago, but you get an idea of the style matchup.

In their amateur fight, Joshua landed the right hand pretty flush fairly often. He hits harder now than he did then. Wallin also spent a lot of time on the ropes, which seems like a bad idea, but he was able to land a lot of head punches (again, he's not a power puncher).

The thing Joshua should really watch out for is Wallin's head. Wallin still comes in like he did as an amateur and they butted several times, particularly in the third round of their amateur fight, but they were wearing headguards.

A bad cut is definitely a possibility in this one. And if Wallin can open one, even if it's with the head, he can make it bigger with the flurries he lands.

It's a fun fight. I hope they make it.

Of course, if it happens with all those heavyweights on the same card, everyone is going to be looking to impress. So the heavyweights who look the most impressive will get an added boost since they are all on the same show together.

They're all going to be feeling the pressure. And Joshua's will be ratcheted up even more if he closes the show after Wilder scores a brutal KO against Parker.

Because of where AJ is post the Usyk defeats, I think he needs a KO, and demonstration of some aggression and the finishing he had prior to getting gunshy after the Wlad fight.

A 12 round clinic shutout like he pitched in the Ruiz rematch would be a great result IMO as Wallin is tricky, but I think a destructive KO would generate some excitement for AJ, that a decision would not - especially with Fury having struggled with Wallin, and the whole Ngannou debacle recently.

 

Wallin is living off the fury fight where he won 2 rounds the whole fight. He got absolutely destroyed in that fight, but because he cut fury everyone thinks he’s amazing.

Wallin will box him up before AJ finds a right hand to finish the job
