i've just ordered one online, so now i can use it at home and also when i go to the gym. what does it actually do for a boxer? is it worth using, does it improve any areas and if so which ones? also, does it improve your reflexes, cause that's something i'd like to work on when im not at the gym.

Yeh it's more of an aesthetic thing to impress casuals and birds TBH. The least important bag in the gym without question.

Hand-eye coordination, shoulder/arm stamina, timing, etc.

All things that are better worked on a floor to ceiling ball, heavy bag, skipping rope, shadow boxing, sparring and pads.

I only give 1 round of my training to the speed bag. I think the double end and heavybag have far more use

Id say the best benefit of it is shoulder and arm endurance but thats about it

Theres only one speedball at our gym and its tucked away in the corner and never used

It's a waste of time, money and effort.

I'm with this guy. I'm not a pro, but i think the double end is a better alternative. I usually only use the speedbag during my break rounds, or when I'm feeling lazy :D

Shoulder stamina, accuracy (when using the smallest bag). Usually do two or three rounds at the end of a boxing workout.
