I don't think he needs the USA like some people think.

If he retires with a 100% KO rate during such a strong era, then there can be no doubt he is the greatest of all time.

I don't know how that can be argued against.

No I am stating facts. Yet to hear anyone mention a stronger era, and this thread has been up for a while.

When you're forced to name a 41 year old man who hasn't won a fight in 2.5 years, a 400 lbs crackhead, a 37 year old part time boxer who hasn't beaten a top50 opponent in over 5 years and 2 of the weakest and most flawed titlists the division has ever seen to make a case for the division being strong, It means the era is far, far, far, far, far, far, far from being the strongest ever.

Joshua, Wlad, Fury, Povetkin, Ortiz, Parker, Wilder etc is the strongest era we have ever had. There is no doubt about that.

Yeah. No division in the past had a 400 pound crackead for a top guy before. It's something unique.

Heavyweight division was dead from when Lewis/Holyfield/Tyson generation waved it goodbye. Klitschkos took over and beat what was in front of them, cleaned it up. I rate the previous generation as utter ****, some of them still wobbling about for a few paydays in todays game. The post klitschko era has begun. We wont yet know just how good this era is but there is signs that it will be a much better one than the previous.

3 Different World Champions and i believe them belts will be unifed by 2019 giving us the current leader of this generation. There is alot of prospects coming through i think this era has alot of promise for sure, i still say Floyd Mayweather changed the game of boxing which is the reason we dont see the best fight the best like we used too. Everybody too busy trying to pad and protect that record. The only Heavyweight i havent seen take a chance with his 0 yet is Deontay Wilder... everyone else seems pretty game for fighting eachother which is what you need when your rating a era, the best fighting the best

Division is too weak, the best don;t fight each other, and the sport is not popular enough to produce universally recognized GOAT. Boxing is a niche sport these days. You ask someone on the street who the heavyweight champion is, and they will name some UFC guy.
So to be in the GOAT conversation, given today's conditions, he'd have to do a reverse Floyd. Challenge the UFC champ to a UFC fight and beat him at UFC. Then go back and dominate boxing. This will generate enough public interest that casuals will think he's the GOAT.

The differance with this era is most top guys are still learning and will fight in their primes. While the 90's were stronger, not everyone fought at their peak and this era is still growing.its not a fair comparison right now and this era looks like its going to be even more stacked than the 90's were. If wilder had stepped it up you would have seen better fights added so far.

The top 3 fighters in the 90's were Lewis/ Holyfield and Tyson..yet no one fought each other until mid late 90's. Tyson didnt even fight lewis until the 2000's. Bowe and Lewis didnt even fight when they were the top 2 guys...lol

Alot of talent coming up and still guys like Pulev and povetkin still around ..two TOP guys Klitchko has faced, even Haye is around..Not sure if ppl are actually following boxing or cheer leading to dismiss Joshuas era here? Either way those who know how the sport works can see a very stacked era coming up.......

You have an entire miix here with green/prime and up coming guys even some past prime guys still in the mix..to say its weak shows you whos not following boxing.I dont know all the other eeuropean olympic guys by name so i didnt mention them.Add them in as well. If Klitchko was still here it would be that much stronger even if hes 41 ( another casual mistake others make using the age card) klitchko could always defeat any HW bc hes ELITE fighter, i really wish most on here laced them up at least once maybe they could understand that better.

    Joshua
    Wilder
    Ortiz
    Pulev
    Povetkin
    Parker
    Breazeale
    Haye
    whyte
    Miller
    Izu
    Duboi
    Jennings
    joyce
    H.Fury
    T.Fury
    Mansour
    Washington
    Morrison
    G.Arias
    Dychko
    Browne
    Martin
    Rock

I know theres more this is off top of my head. This ensures at least a decade of matches in the future from now till ??

Loool you think Ali’s era wasn’t more difficult? Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton.

Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson was tailing off, Tua, Bruno, man the list goes on.
