Vanes Martirosyan is a 2004 olympian who right now has a record of 21-0 with 13 knockouts. He was trained by Freddie Roach and now has Ronnie Shields as his trainer. I think at 154lbs he is now ready to step up the competion and fight maybe Chavez Jr. I believe he has the skills at this point.

I do believe that Arum will never put Vanes in with Chavez Jr as Chavez would get KTFO and thats just a waste of money..

Vanes always had a good jab and a killer right hand but now his jab is about 10 times more versatile and his footwork is ace and his right hand is still very good. His left hook is developping slowly but surely.

His defense is good due to his footwork and his head movement still needs improvement.

Slowly but surely he is becoming a top fighter and a force.

He's no longer with Shields. He had Reid in his corner on Sat who has replaced Moorer as Freddy Roach's assistant at the wildcard.

Tsurkan was just a punching bag but a decent victory for the armenian.

    Wish he'd step up faster.

Yeah, forgot about Vanes. Any Armenian fans out there know what's new with him lately?

Tsurkan is the kind of guy you hope doesn't end up with brain damage but you just know that he will

Not Armenian, but I saw him at Wild Card recently and he's been looking good.

The kid is just biding his time, preparing for what's ahead. He's very very focused.

I think I have only seen one fight, and nothing stood out. Can this kid beat Yuri Foreman?

Vanes is a lot more talented than Yuri Foreman, he would be the favorite to win. Vanes needs to step up his competition to develop the experience to one day challange Kirkland, Angulo and Cintron. Despite all his talent, he somewhat lacks the discipline to follow a gameplan. Everytime he gets hit he goes crazy and starts slugging, he needs to change this to be successful.
