What does Artur Beterbiev need to do to win the trilogy?

Cut off the ring and hit Bivol to the body. However, at 40+ years of age, I don't know if he has the stamina needed to beat somebody like Bivol. He was smart to make that adjustment in the rematch.

 

He dominated and brutalized Bivol in the first fight.
And in the second fight, he was very effective, he lost by 5 - 7. He almost knocked out Bivol in 12th round in the rematch.

In the 3rd fight, he doesn't need to change much. Bivol was lucky for not getting KOed in the 2nd fight. I think Beterbiev will be more aggressive and beat the daylights out of Bivol this time.

 

Score a knockdown. If he scores a knockdown in the 2nd fight he probably wins. Beterbiev entered this trilogy with a 100% KO rate rate and has not scored a single KD against Bivol.

Bivol nearly got KOd in Rd12 in both fights IMO. His eye was badly cut in fight II.

If Beterbiev was 5-10 years younger he would stopped Bivol and Bivol would not have asked for a rematch. It would be brutal beatdown. The fight would have been competitive for the first 7 or 8 rounds. And then the avalanche comes and Beterbiev mercilessly bangs on him for 2 brutal rounds before Bivol decides he's had enough.

 

Yup, the fact both fights were fairly close actually shows how impressive Beterbiev really is still at an advanced age for this sport.

 

He had Bivol running out the clock towards the end. It was AB who wanted the fight to continue and Bivol who wanted it to end. A younger Beterbiev shreds him.

 

But you said Bivol was robbed in the first fight.

You also said Beterbiev was robbed in the second fight.

Nothing he can do really. Beterbiev had the right game plan for a man his age in the first fight. Conserved his energy and waited till Bivol emptied the tank for him to unleash his attacks. Obviously it worked, but there’s no way he would be able to replicate that at his age. Bivol brought the fight to him in the rematch and it seriously showed just how declined Beterbiev is. I don't even think he has a punchers chance considering Bivol's chin and defense. Just an all round pointless trilogy.

 

he can't for me. he already lost twice. let's see him fight benavidez instead. would be loads more fun.
