Whilst AJ is training to face an undefeated world champion Mr chicken legs is making final preparations to fight some static fat man who lumbered to a PED assisted win against Dave Allen.

Personally speaking, anything less than a KO within 3 rounds will be hugely embarrassing and will add fuel to the fire that says he'd get levelled if he stepped into the ring with Joshua.

    Thoughts?

Realistically he needs to beat Ortiz in a fashion where it's clear that no funny business has been involved. If he cuffs Ortiz and drops him early then rumours will abound that the fix was in. If he neutralises Ortiz with his reach and movement and boxes smart to a late stoppage or decision then he can and should get massive props for that. It's a fight where looking too good can actually backfire for him.

He needs to win convincingly, whether it's by UD or a KO it doesn't matter, though a dramatic KO would of course be better.

If he struggles, is hurt or dropped, or requires some controversy to win it will just reinforce the idea he will be easy pickings for Joshua and makes a proposed Joshua/Wilder fight less competitive in the eyes of the pundits and fans which means the fight is more and more likely to be in the UK as US fans will switch off and won't pay to see another American heavyweight contender get KO'ed.

He just has to win. Ortiz is the clear second best heavyweight after Wilder.

Ok Joshua has a questionable better win, but when it comes to skill Ortiz is a level above him.

the thread was the same wilder fans were putting out prior to takam fight

joshua will walk it./ko him in 3 or under /box with a blind fold on and swing his dick and ktfo takam / etc etc.

when you only had to watch takam fight and have a knowledge of boxing to know the fight that actually happened was more realistic.

to me a win is a win and wilder should box ugly/win by hail mary / spoil/jab / do anything that works la ward to beat ortiz/

i cant see what so many posters are seeing with ortiz /
a slow as treacle /over the hill/ shot fighter.

he was never fast and being a counterpuncher is not comfertable in seek and destroy mode when his opponent does not want to engage.

but you can count on 1 hand the ammount of rounds he has lost
he is still at 38 a solid technical fighter/very good in the pocket and counterpunching. and has decent power.

arreola is my definition of a shot fighter /
lost his power / his will to win and cant get off /

Perfect scenario for Wilder and his fans (me not being one) is that Wilder schools him for 12 rounds winning 120-108.
