Of course, all Golovkin's titles will be on the line if the fight is at 160 and Canelo pays sanctioning fees.
Lee will be thrilled to fight Canelo instead of GGG , its a mega fight for him , he makes more money , makes him more famous by the casuals and the most important thing - its a winnable fight for him , where GGG just smokes him. dont kid yourself , money >>> titles in this day and age.
I tend to agree with this. I have no doubt Andy - should he defeat BJS - would be eager to face GGG. But if given the option to face Canelo first, where he can potentially become a unified champion, that would have to be an extremely difficult opportunity to pass up should it arise. There's just too much upside in it for Andy. And imagine what it would be like if we had two unified champions fighting for all the marbles in an Andy Lee vs Gennady Golovkin showdown. That's one scenario I'd love to see play out, although I deem it unlikely. :smoke
I'm not content with it. I'm aware of it. Do some research. Know your history. No gripes you have are new to the past decade at all.
Decisions... decisions We will know sooner/rather than later what Canelo decides to do with GGG. If the WBC insists that Canelo fights the mandatory bout with GGG or lose his belt/tittle, then it becomes an "either/or" decision. Waiting to see how O$CAR handles this !!!
What Canelo does now is decide whether he wants to drop the belt or whether he wants to fight Golovkin. If he drops the belt I guess other possibilities open up.
