In the build up to the Eubank vs Benn re-match, they sat opposite each other on some chat show on ITV in the UK. There was a live feed to the US where James Toney called both of them british bums. There was a sense that they both feared Toney.
The funny thing is that the beginning and end of that quote are almost certainly legitimate (or at the very least paraphrased), he just added the Calzaghe thing in between
If they behaved like ****ing idiots and insulted him back would that have been a sense they did not 'fear' Toney? Toney has zero class, Benn and Eubank do.
Eubank is a big Calzaghe supporter and since their fight Calzaghe has stated (in his book) Eubank often called him before a fight to offer advice and that they have remained friends.
Eubank was good but he did not fight the best in the division at the time.He could have fought Toney for one.It seems a bit like the pot calling the kettle to me.
I have read extracts from his book and he basically said, if the fighter in question had been his mandatory, he would of fought them, but they were never his mandatory. Could of been Toney, Nunn, or McCallum, cant remember which.
