I'm not a huge fan of the guy, and I'm not saying he's particularly impressive, but for the amount of 'eliminators' and the like that he has fought, and for being a guy who to be fair, takes on all comers as much as (if not more than) anyone in boxing right now....Surely he is due a shot at Wilder? Ranked at number 1 by the WBC and even won their farce of a Silver belt, to solidify his position with them and they still order Brezeale v Wilder as mandatory? How can that be?

I know of the old 'myth' or thought around Britain that the WBC like to protect their American champions, or like an American holding their belts as much as can be, but I'm never usually one to buy into those..maybe I should?

Yeah, there are some good fights to see who's the best of the rest.

    Whyte
    Ortiz
    Parker
    Breazeale
    Miller
    Povetkin

And then match those names up as you see fit.

All Whyte has to do is dispose of the geriatric, heart patient can that Wilder already crushed.
Easy enough seeing how Whyte is considered the #2 heavy by many on here

But Whyte & Hearn seem to be having a heart attack themselves after hearing the great news from the WBC. Why come?

I agree it'd be an interesting fight and one I'd also like to see. But if I'm Dillian Whyte I'm feeling really hard done by that I have to come through yet another to get to Wilder.

Personally can't see Whyte beating Ortiz either

He can fight on Wilder's terms instead of demanding his own. He wanted Wilder to come to him? On his terms? No wonder the WBC ****ed him.

Whyte has jumped through all the hoops and deserves his shot now; Wilder would rather duck AJ and pay the WBC to help him keep the belt hostage by allowing Breazale to be designated his mandatory challenger. About par for course for the WBC, but disgusting on their part and Wilder's.

What's the deal with the Breazeale situation? Wasn't he in an eliminator that wasn't a final eliminator? I'm quite sure that was the situation.

Haymon owns Breazeale, that made him mandatory! Breazeale can't fight at all, Joshua easily knocked him out. Wilder is afraid of Whyte and Whyte is not owned by Haymon. Instead of WBC, they should call it the Haymon belt! Breazeale has done nothing to earn a shot at the title...........................I guess Dustin Nichols will be next!

I thought Whytes last fight was an eliminator and it does seem unfair if someone has to go through more than one eliminator (if that is the case).
Whyte does seem willing to take on all comers and for so few fights is building a solid resume

I remember Chisora, Helenius and Browne all being eliminators of some sort.

The WBC's actions shouldn't surprise anyone, it's not the first time they've favoured American based fighters. Remember when Tyson Fury accused the WBC of freezing him out.

Fury beat Kevin Johnson in and eliminator and Stiverne beat Arreola in an eliminator. But instead of matching up Stiverne and Fury for the vacant WBC title as you'd expect from a normal elimination process, they gave Arreola another undeserved title shot by making Stiverne/Arreola 2.

What kind of insanity is that? Can you imagine in tennis if Federer beat Murray in the semi-final, then Nadal beat Novak in the other semi, but then the US Open kicked Nadal out of the tournament and said it was Federer/Murray for the title, that's what the WBC basically did.

Suffice to say Whyte and Hearn should probably forget about going the WBC route, even if they fight and beat Ortiz there is no guarantee they will get a shot. They made Stiverne wait almost 2 years before enforcing his mandatory vs Wilder. Stevenson another Haymon fighter hasn't fought his mandatory in over 4 years! Even if Whyte becomes the official mandatory Wilder will probably retire before the WBC enforce that mandatory.

The WBC game looks rigged in Haymons favour. He's managed to get Breazeale to the front of the line ahead of the top ranked Whyte and he now has recently beaten Luis Ortiz named as a contender as secondary insurance on the green belt. Smart moves.

The only way to beat a rigged game is not to play. Whyte needs to go the IBF route and beat Pulev for a shot at Joshua. He'll make more from this fight and the potential rewards are higher too.
