Neither cotto or margo are overrated......

Cotto has been asking to get put to sleep for the longest.....he easily gets pulled into fighting other peoples fight.. All he needed was someone as powerful and relentless as margo and he was gonna get ktfo

Margo is good..but one dimensional..either outbox him, and maintain ur stamina to win on points or pot shot him and tie him up to win on points.... he just isn't well versed skill wise

But the fact of the matter is that the fighters that have fought them have rarely exposed their obvious flaws......

Paul williams gets little love for out pointing margarito because he wasn't throwing any power punches...he fought like he was trying to win on points and not like he was trying to knock him out...

He's rated fine now, just getting the praise he deserves after earning it the hard way. He always said that he wanted a major opportunity to truly shine, not many believed him(including myself) and he proved many wrong. He's just getting what he deserves and earned.

Wow. Guys are writing detailed reasons why they think a fighter isnt as good or overrated and other people are responding by namecalling .

Are you people like 12 years old or something? What the hell happened to this place?

Margarito is garbage and a product of media hype ... I think that he's bound to lose ... has lost to Williams and will more likely lose again to Williams.

Margarito deserves the praise he s getting because he is a true warrior! You gotta love a guy with a chin like that. BUT...

He lost to Paul Williams regardless of how you try to make excuses for him. He started slowly because Paul was feeding him leather at 125/rd. while moving and moving. And when he finally caught up with Paul, he stung him a few times but never really came close to knocking him out. Then in the 12th... PAUL DOMINATED. AM may have touched him with 1 or 2 shots.

You can talk all day about how Margarito is improved since that Paul fight, but he won't be fighting the same Paul Williams either. Paul will be even more conditioned, fight taller, and throw combinations a little better.

Face it. He lost, no matter how much Margarito fans try to erase it like it never happened. And to make even more excuses for him to fight someone else instead of getting his revenge?

He beat 1 good fighter ... after 15yrs in the game ... I don't think he deserves that much praise.

Why does this win cross out that he loss to Williams who's also an undefeated fighter who Margarito couldn't beat.

Why is there talk like Margarito is unbeatable when he's lost 5 times ...

Okay he won a fight against an undefeated fighter and it was entertaining but he's nothing special. He hasn't beat anyone of note outside of Cotto.

when you face the best guys around you will lose sooner or later.

at least he faced him unlike your boyfriend who was running out of excuses not to fight the WW contenders and chose to retire.

I give him credit for the win. He proved his chin to those that thought he couldn't take a punch from an elite. That being said, he is still a 1 dimensional fighter with one plan. I still think that PW has the best chance in beating him with his work rate and size.

LOL.....you clown! Ok....I'll entertain the basless comment that Marg is "Garbage"....I guess that makes not only Marg, but Cotto, Williams, and Mosley who are one..eh..maybe 2 levels below Garbage using your method of thought. After all....Marg whooped Cotto....Cotto whooped Shane and Quintana who is the only one who beat Paul (who beat Marg) is the only decent boxer out of them all....And even his status is suspect be after all, he lost to a Garbage fighter named Cotto.:good

Who said it erased it??? He still has the "L" hombre. But Paul is the real deal and Marg faught well against a guy who normally outshines, outboxes and out hustles all of his oppoents. So loosing to Paul isnt such a bad thing just as long as you don't get blown out like one Carlos Quintana, who just so happened to be Pauls one and only conqueror. Paul was able to cross out that defeat b/c he avenged it....but the difference is PAUL LOST TO A FAR inferior fighter in Carlos where MARG lost to his equal in PAUL.
