I don't think anyone is saying the man is unbeatable obviously hes not...check the record. All people are saying is the man is hard as nails and would be a tough fight for almost anyone. Stylistically he has flaws that only certain style of fighters could overcome. But you gotta give it to Marg.....He's a beast...he was eating massive blows like it was a stawweight going at him and continued to walk Cotto down.

    Someone check the man's DNA!

Even though he lost, those guys went through hell to beat Margarito. Anyone who beats Margarito, is going to have to go through pure hell to do it, and that includes PBF.

Margarito was clearly under-rated going into this fight.

Anybody who actually looked at Margarito's style (and his record) closely before the fight, knew that Cotto and his fans were in for a surprise.

I had the fight going 2 possible ways:

    1) Cotto is able to box consistently for 12 rounds to a UD. (He obviously doesn't have the stamina to do this)

    2) Cotto trades with Margarito and leaves on his back. (He obviously gets caught up in exchanges as well)

I have never seen Cotto box 12 rounds consistently in his entire career. He puts pressure on opponents with his strength. Against Margarito, that wasn't going to work and Cotto would have to fight backing up for once. When you're backing up and counter-punching... defense is even more important as you are relying on your defense to setup your offense. Cotto has always been above average at best when it comes to defense.

I would say Margarito was under-rated AND Cotto was over-rated.

I think Floyds defense is so far ahead of his offense that it wouldn't be different than any of Floyds other fights...Marg doesn't have exceptional power so it's not like the moment Marg connects the fight changes...like it did with Cotto...

Marg is a rough tough fighter and yes he makes you fight...but I think Floyds defense is on a different level...I just don't think Marg would hit Floyd enough to stop him and I know Floyd constantly land and expose Marg's leaky defense...the same way Cotto did from rounds 1-6...Only Floyd would do it 1-12...

Tony is the toughest SOB and numero uno badass all over and there's no way to argue about this... Still, he took a whole lota punches from all angles and with full steam ( I remember one at the HBO slow motion replay in round 2 that had Margo's facial and skull distorted in grostesque fashion to say the least) so I will end up my sayings on this with great praise for Tony's will against the skillest oppoenents out there but I am afraid he really didn't improve technically or strategically since the beginning... And that may simply won't to against someone like Williams or Mayweather or even Mosley.

Unfortunately, we will never find out who is right, because Floyd will never fight Margarito.

Its as simple as Margo fighting his fight and Cotto beating himself, its not so much as Tony did anything great as it is Cotto merely beating himself

Yeah, Cotto walked himself down and painted his face in blood with his kid and ex-wife cryin. Not even Norman Bates could do such a thing with his mother in Alfred H's classic. Bullocks! Cotto had a taste of his own medicine ( against Judah) and was broken down by a stronger, more commited and tougher man. Period.

Are you serious bro? What Marg did was put on a stellar preformance. It wasn't flashy, it wasn't showboating...it was pure relentless offesne and intelligently applied pressure. He cut the ring off VERY well and he imposed his will and offensive onslaught on to Cotto who himself faught a very good fight....just not good enough. Don't try and discredit margs performance as Cotto loosing the fight himself. That's baseless and untrue...not to mention a slap in Margs face.

Still a One Dimentional fighter to me,,, Cotto Outboxed him for 6 Rounds, Yeah he win fare and squared but nothing spectacular that will get my attention , hes just blessed with and iron chin/skull , that gave him the edge in the Cintron and Cotto's victories,

Iron Chin = your born with it
Boxing Skills = You learn them & get them perfected by practicing and dedication

He didnt "edge" his victories homie...>he bloodied and beat them to the ground. Hard crititics out there in boxing i must say. If Marg can't catch your attention by his brave display of heart, will, determination and grit You must be in to more "fluffy" stuff. Which is cool, but not normal for a boxing fan.
