If they were the same weight/size/etc., one would hit harder than the other...durrr

If 2 guys who aren't the same size were the same size, who would hit harder?

Basically who hits hardest relative to the rest of their weight division.

What's been said is the simplest way for most people to understand but if you prefer a more scientific, mathematical approach it's who is getting the greater value of force when considering their weight/size/mass to force ratio. Which of course since most guys aren't tested in a scientific setting it leaves everything highly debatable

Walters does not hit harder than Fonfara.

Walters does hit harder than Fonfara... P4P.

    Pretty obvious what it means.

that makes sense, but i would say it's just based on what you think because there's really no true way to test that

If a heavyweight has a 60% KO rate, and a middleweight has a 90% KO rate, it's pretty clear who's got the more power relevant to their division. It's not as simple as that, as you have to factor in opponents and whatnot, but it's good enough as a standard.

Spot on. I don't view p4p as "if they were the same size", it's more along the lines of this.

Really? What does that really tell us when a guy like JCC Jr. was fighting at MW and weighing 185 in the ring?

Yes but his "p4p" power is judged at MW. Just like p4p rankings as a whole.

Nobody says "hey Fury is good but Haye is 50 lbs lighter and almost as good so he should be higher p4p".

Eh, I suppose. I don't see it that way. And HW has always been its own special case.

It basically means higher KO ratio.
