Lightweights should never spar with middleweights without headgear. But he's one of my best friends and I couldnt turn down the challenge.
Hey man, **** happens. He's a big middleweight and I've boxed his ears off a few times as well. Just that one time, he caught we with a monstrous left hook. He'll bust out the tape every once in a while at a party or some **** which sucks but whatever. He walks around at about 185, but he has a better frame to suck down weight than I do. Anyways, I was digging in with a left hook to the body and when I pulled out he timed it with a perfect left hook. Last time I didn't wear headgear with him. I have broken his nose twice though so we're about even.
I know man. Its all good. I have to deal with his ass all the time so nothing can really phase me at this point about the whole ordeal.
What's shocking to me about that fight today isn't so much that Pavlik knocked out Taylor it's that Pavlik survives that total beat down he got in the second round. It's insane that he came back to win. :good
I've gone black and had my knee's buckle with a good shot, but never been out completely. I always wondered what it was like.
I was hit in my sternum once. It was so bad that I felt it for about a week afterwards. I would feel this burning in my chest from sneezing, coughing, and laying down. Worst hit I ever took.
The above comments sum it up about right. I have been dropped pretty hard a couple of times. Its not what you expect it to be like, it doesn't really hurt. Everything goes black, and you just seem to lose control of your body, but at the same time you are unaware of what is actually happening, ie you don't realise your on the floor until you come around and regain focus. When you start to come around, everything seems very surreal, and you feel very disoriented and confused. Once you get your wits back about you, is when the pain comes.
I clotheslined a guy once playing football...he suffered a minor concussion. His eyes rolled back and he didn't get up...I nearly **** myself cuz i thought i killed the guy. But he got up and every few minutes repeated the same questions "Man...what happened?" I tackled you bro...sorry "No No...that was a good hit." Five minutes later he asks the same **** "Man...what happened? You asked that five minutes ago...I tackled you...very hard "Really?...damn...nice hit." What year is it? "Umm...2006" Damn man...no...it's 2004 He said he felt really dizzy and had a slight headache. His memory was jumbled. We asked we he remembered throughout the day. He said he remembered waking up, getting dressed, what he ate...he remembers everything up to the point of playing the game. He doesnt remember anything afterwards. Crazy ****...I haven't played a game of football since.
i put a guy out once and he said it felt like he wasnt even there. described it like being unconscious and better than than feeling the punches. I had walking pneumonia once and i'd imagine it was similar without the headache afterward from getting bopped around.
