Either way, what all that tells me is that nobody in the US mainstream knows who Chagaev is. He is quiet, doesnt fight in the US, and is injury prone. That's why HBO/ShowTime passed. To say he avoids people is just plain wrong and a pretty uneducated thing to say.

 

Even many of the Hayniacs on ESB admitted that the Wlad of the Chagaev fight would beat Haye.

People know who Haye is not because of what he does in the ring. He is all over the news and sports because of his outlandish mouth. And as for him KO'ing anyone, well he should try doing that against a couple top 10 HW's then he can talk.

Haye definitely got an enertaining personality, something Wlad or his brother doesn't have. Haye understands what sells and gets peoples attention, he has already proved of how great of a self promoter he is. He had Klits signed into a 3 fight deal without even fighting a top 10 heavyweight.

Haye has what it takes to get the mainstream fans attention in the states, he just needs to start fighting more and giving the division a future to look forward to.

 

I agree with you on the part of him needing to start fighting. He has done nothing yet, but I would love to see him start to earn something at HW.

The bottom line is that A LOT more people in the US know Haye because of his childish behavior than they do Chagaev. Could it at all be possible that WK's skills have something to do with his opponents looking bad? Are you honestly trying to suggest that every fighter he has ever fought cannot punch? I mean cmon. I agree that sometimes he does not go in for the kill, but whats wrong with fighting intelligently? Its like people who love to hate WK hate him because he fights smart and he conducts himself with respect. I guess if he came into fights out of shape, threw nothing but hay-maker punches, and acted like a childish punk (like Haye) then the haters would love him.

Seriously, you guys need to get a grip. He is a good guy, an intelligent, gifted fighter, and he is by far the best in the world right now. Its ok. He wont be here forever if you do not like the guys style. Do not hate the guy for being a good guy. Scumbags are bad for boxing/sports. Clearly you feel Haye would beat Wladimir.

So why should Wlad fight Haye and not be at his peak for someone you feel would beat him?

The reason fighters training camps vary between 2-3 months is so that when the fight comes they are peak physical form. By post poning the fight 4-6 weeks. Wladimir would peak then level out when fight time comes.


ALSO - David Hayes own manager admitted that if Wladimir was injured and wanted to postpone the fight that David Haye would of fought someone else instead of waiting.
