I think the point is that Wlad's recent fights are beginning to turn into the same old thing, and it's boring. And his fight with Chagaev proves it. Even when Chagaev was in trouble and was begging to be knocked out, Wlad didn't even try. He looked conflicted about whether he should let the beast out of the cage. When Wlad had Chagaev in the state he did, Vic Darchinyan coulda put Chagaev away in a more exciting fashion than letting him retire on his stool.

Haye may be unknown, and may have never appeared on HBO, Showtime or even ESPN, but it's quite obvious that he generated enough excitement & interest for the bout that he made HBO believe he'd make the fight more entertaining than Wlad's last few bouts.

    That much is obvious.

The guy who started this thread claims that Monte Barrett is a "dangerous contender"

What more needs to be said?

He is obviously a Haye nuthugger....but the topic itself DOES have a point.

Klitschko HIMSELF should be the draw...not just the combination of him & his opposition. Klitschko SHOULD be exciting enough that there'd be enough interest to see him fight a tomato can, or what appeared to be a punching bag.

Klitchkos were also interested in the fight with Haye only if Haye came in it. But he wasn't there:yep

let's see if HBO would be interested in any fight with Haye on board, but without any of Klitchkos? :hey

"David will be ready to fight on July 25 but this is the holiday period when television companies are not interested in showing fights," explained Booth.

"Realistically we are looking at September. At present we are not thinking about anyone but Wladimir Klitschko. We know he has a mandatory against Povetkin (Alexander), but we will see what happens."

    would you please STFU!

Wlad isn't a huge draw at all in the usa....hes ok but alot of people mistake him for his brother cuz they know who vitali is since he fought lennox....wlad is a good fighter and if he continues to win like he does he will be great but by no means is he a big draw...if he fought his brother that would be a ppv in the states but other than that hes the best hw and nothing more (actually vitali is better imo)

K is boring, no doubt. What does that have to do with the fact that it's HAYE who pulled out of the fight, and not Klitschko? You're trying to use the fact that K isn't a box office to somehow support your idea that K is frightened of Haye, the man who pulled out of fighting Klitschko, and frankly, you're pretty much an idiot for saying that.

It says that HBO has horrible decision making.... and the fight was MUCH too short notice for Showtime to pick it up.

    ESPN did the smart thing.

It wasn't my point. Wlad wasn't scared, its bull****, and I was ironizing the fact that Haye guys here are so freakin happy that HBO weren't interested in the fight without both original participants.

and the right answer on my last question was obviously - "no", cause Haye without Klitchkos isn't tha interesting)))
