How did DLH show his heart in the Whitaker fight?

Larry Merchant was actually criticizing DLH for not using his size, speed and power to take it to Whitaker. In fact, DLH was on the retreat more in the second half of the fight than Whitaker was.

He basically got stylitically schooled (which he admitted himself a week after the fight) and then tried to steal the fight with flurries.

Now don't get me wrong, DLH might have won the fight, there's an argument that can be made for him winning it, but showed more heart than Whitaker? How exactly?

He admited to have been troubled but admitted he thought he won the fight because he landed the harder shots. I personaly think Oscar made the fight and remember Whitaker for mosty spinning oscar, clutching him around the waist, pulling him down, goofing around and showboating, but that's about it. I'd go back and watch the fight yet another time but it sucks!

Tito obviously felt he was in shape and that he could win the fight otherwise he wouldn't have taken it. That's your exact logic for Whitaker's losses, so why not Tito's?

You have, in fact, just taken the bait and owned yourself.

if Sweet Pea stayed more focused he woulda finished his career undefeated ... there's no way that any of those guys he supposidly lost to were on his level.

That man was a rare talent and he was one of the best fighters/boxers i'd ever seen.

In his prime he easily out points Tito and DLH ...

He's like FLoyd in the sense that both of these guys at the top of their game are virtually unbeatable ...
