I dont really c his career doing much after this fight if he fails to beat pavlik , if he moves up then his reputation for not even been able to beat the champ at middle will be affected then his reputation at Super middle with hard hitting opponents and bigger boxers will be affected and how well he does against those type of fighters at Super middle?

so again i ask what does jermain Taylor do if he loses to Kelly Pavlik?

    fight with Jeff Lacy perhaps?

a jeff lacy fight at 168 would be interesting and after that who knows - its not impossible that taylor re-establishes himself at 168, maybe his stamina will be better there

He can still remain competitive in the MD if Pavlik moves up. Win or lose, I don't see a point for him to move up to SMW as he would most likely lose to both Calzaghe and Kesler.

Good question. He would probably fade out a bit ala Jeff Lacey style. I really don't know what he would or could do. If Pavlik moves up for good maybe he could...**** I have no idea.

I dont think Jermaine can make 160 anymore, he is too meaty. At 168 there definitely a few good fights out there for him, like Allan Green, Anthony Mundine, Carl Froch, etc. Calzaghe wil proabably be retired after a few more big fights, that will leave the division wide open, though Kessler is definitely the best fighter (outside of Calzaghe).

I think that if taylor moves up he very well can beat kessler and be among the best at sm. Keep in mind he has had close fights with wright and hopkins weather you felt he lost or not they were dam close and they are both in the top 10 pfp. Maybe Pavlik is the real deal and if taylor looses again he can become a champion at smw.

I think it also depends on how he loses the second fight with Pavlik. Close decision/split decision would still leave some respect for Taylor, not to mention his mind set wouldn't be as damaged as it is right now. On the other hand, if he loses to another brutal knock-out/TKO then what type of fighter is left in the body of Taylor?? Sure he may fight on, but will he ever be what he was when he stood in there with B-hop and Wright?

I don't know what his next move will be if he BEATS Pavlik.. He still won't have a title, so why in the world make this fight?

He could still have a very good career, Barrera lost twice to Junior Jones early on and is still a sure fire HOF'r.
