What does Joe Calzaghe have to do before the end of his career to get to the HOF?

Yeah, but being the greatest ever at a division like Super Middleweight, which has only been around for about 20 years, doesn't exactly carry the weight of most other weight classes.

ATG is subjective, but Calzaghe is a sure-fire bet for Canastota.

The only reason he'd be an ATG is if you went by how many times he's mentioned in this forum. He'd be number 1 then. As it is, in reality, he's a long way short of consideration.

He became a HOF when he cleaned out his division by outboxing the
very talented and much younger Kessler, then moved up and easily
outboxed and humiliated Hopkins, who had brutalized Tarver who
in turn had KO'ed the legend Roy Jones Jr. Calzaghe's longterm record
of achievement is almost unparalled in boxing history. To be still
undefeated after all these years and to have been the underdog by
so many "boxing experts" going into fights--Lacy, Kessler to only win
decisively; how could anyone question his resume? Oh right, silly me,
    I forgot. He's NOT American.

He's easily a future HOFer and a borderline ATG. To become a cemented ATG, he needs to beat a title holder at 175.

Why is there always someone like you? I was going to comment saying he's already in the HOF, but then you go and ruin it by acting like one of those insane Pac nuthuggers, but for Calzaghe. God I hate obsessive, over-exaggerating fans.

Don't be such a woman and get all hissy. If you were going to make
a comment acknowledging Calzaghe's obvious HOF status, just do it.

Go back in time and face legit competition instead of fighting the Sobots, Thornberrys, Sheikas, and Pudwills of the world.

Your post was utter trash, but Calzaghe is still a future HOF'er. There's my statement.

the reason why he wouldn't be in the HOF?:rofl

does it need to be american to enter HOF? What about PR,Mexico,Argentina,Phil, etc. and lewis?

Floyd beat oscar who beat JCC, whitaker, another case of fighter A beats C because fighter C was beaten by B who was beaten by A:rofl

i agree with the threadstarter, jones clearly does him nothing legacy wise but only money wise. Imo he needs pavlik, dawson, and tarver to get a higher spot. Currently he doesn't make the 100 cut of ATG on my list but he sure is a shoo in HOF

Calzaghe is a borderline HOFer right now, who will probably make it in on the third or fourth ballot.

I would vote for him, personally.

But to be a true ATG (say top 40-60) and a first ballot HOFer he will need to score another defining win.

The potential Tarver vs Dawson fight would provide a very worthy opponent.

A Roy Jones fight would not.
