Stick around for about 12 years, fight 3 Times a year at least 2 of which against top contenders, avoid no one.

    Very, very hard task.

Ali has a 9-2 record against ATGs.

So far AJ has a 1-0 record. So really I'm thinking AJ has to get to around 7-0 to be a contender.

Shame Wlad ducked him otherwise it would be 2-0. Hard to see where the others are coming from with Fury out the game.

You're right, I was thinking "What does he have to do to be *A* Great." But the question is "What does he have to do to be *THE* greatest". It would mean exactly what you have said, he'd have to elevate the sport and transform it into something that electrifies every level of Western society. It'll be tough. A good evenly-matched adversary would help a lot, one he could fight 3-4 times.

he can be an all time great. to be the goat in boxing is hard. so many opinions. maybe all time great heavyweight discussion.

he must put in work . he must take out some heavy hitters . like ortiz , wilder , parker, or fury if he ever returns.

Beat Fury, beat the other belt holders to unify. Retire for 3 years, allowing someone else to establish themselves as an atg. Then unretire, come back and beat them, defend a few more times and on his way out, beat a guy who goes on to be another atg. He does all that and stays undefeated, he'll have as good a claim to goat as anyone.

To surpass Louis, Joshua needs to unify all the titles and remain champion until he is about 39 years old.

He needs the opponents. It would have to be a new golden age of heavyweights again.

    Liston x2
    Patterson x2
    Frazier x2
    Foreman
    Norton x2

And the fact he had almost 4 years wiped off his career, at his peak, makes his record all the more extraordinary!

Lol! Well... he can start with reigning as the HW champ for over 10 years! And he'll need some victories over top PRIME opponents. We'll start there and see if he can do it ;)
