Can anyone explain what he actually brings to the table ahead of the other big names or the belt holders in the weight classes in and around 147lbs?
He's a name. Okay ppv numbers against Mayweather would be Guerrero like in the states, but UK ppv then there is networks in the UAE. Same with Pacquiao, and the former sparring partner story, fallout with Roach would help sell the fight.
Networks in the uae would bring negligible extra revenue and net less when compared to someone like a danny Garcia, so in terms of money for floyd it won't help. Pacquaio yeah you could run with the roach thing but that will sway people on the fence to buy it
Yeah the UAE revenue wouldn't be massive. Certainly overall money for the fight would generate way more than a Garcia matchup when taking into consideration UK ppv. Khan is a name, big twitter following, growing rep in the States, the numbers would be slightly better than a garcia/thurman still. But he's still high risk low reward for both of them and I can't see Mayweather ever fighting him but the Pac fight will happen one day I reckon
I live in the USA and only big boxing fans know of him and more for his glass jaw than anything else. I just cant see fmj fighting him after pac he will either rematch pac or fight cotto or canelo again, all those fights offer more money than khan. His alexander win got people talking over here but that has died down now as other ww have fought since like thurman and bradley and rios to name a few and have overtaken khan in the public view. Khan needs to fight more often and vs a top ww who can punch as he is perceived as glass chinned
