    His career picked up too late I think, considering his biggest break (at least for more casual fans) was against Pac and he wasn't a young fighter by then.

    Absolutely correct.I think the world of Alexis Arguello,the featherweight Fab 4 and Azumah Nelson,but Chava is the best featherweight that I've ever seen in my lifetime.AND,he died before his TWENTY-FOURTH birthday.We never even got to see his prime.Whew!!!

    That was Nelsons 13th pro fight and that was a close one. Sanchez tends to get overrated in these boards, he struggled with some of his defenses against average fighters. Danny Red Lopez, I know he has alot of followers and they love him but he was a defenseless slugger and he had his moments with Sal. Gomez was a great win, but what did Gomez win above 122??

    a close one??? are you on drugs? nelson got ****ed up, its like saying pac-cotto was a close fight :lol:, the guy was 23 years young and already had a solid resume, Gomez arguably the second greatest puertorican fighter, Sal overrated?:lol: yeah right, the best was yet to come. sadly we never got to see it.

    That those who said he is above Sanchez are ******ed.

    And to answer your question: nothing. Marquez has shown himself to be a superb fighter, but he's not on that level. Nothing he can do will put him there. End of story.

    He needs to be more lucky in the judges decision. Had he gotten the 2 Pac fights and the John one he would a lot closer from Chavez and Sanchez.
