If he had beaten Mayweather, he'd be knocking on the door at least. If any fighter is able to get the first win over Mayweather, it's going to do a big thing for their ranking all-time.

Sometimes I have a hard time even discussing Sanchez because I find it so disheartening that, as you said, you best was yet to come, and he STILL delivered so much in such a short time.... ****ing legend.

Had he beaten Mayweather, which going all the way up to Welter from 135 lbs was a longshot to say the least, Marquez would have skyrocketed well past Sanchez and at the very least been side by side with the great JC Superstar himself.

Marquez certainly has'nt reached Chavez status.......just did'nt have the opportunity given to him when he was prime.......but imo ranks above both MAB and Morales in terms of ability.

........I've seen all of there careers, and imo prime for prime Marquez beats both MAB and Morales at 126 lbs all the way up to heavyweight!

true IF JMM had defeated floyd, he would have surpassed Sanchez in terms of Greatness(due to Sal's death), and would match JCC, but it didn't happen. i don't agree that JMM would have beaten Morales and Barrera at 126 and 130 but i would agree at 135, fights against Morales and Barrera at 126 and 130 prime 4 prime would be very close vicious fights imo, just look at Barrera-JMM, it was pretty close fight, and Barrera wasn't at his best.

out of the 3 i enjoy watching Marquez the most, followed closely by Morales and Barrera.

Not according to what I saw, and certainly not how the judges scored it.......

This is'nt the thread to discuss it, but it been discussed here many times before......
MAB was the sentimental favorite in that fight. Certainly the judges know and feel what the fans want.......they too throughout history have judged for the sentimental favorite anytime given the opportunity when a fight has been competitive enough.

......in any regard, Nacho talked about this even before Marquez stepped in the ring with MAB......he said, JMM would have to be the aggressor because he just could not afford to have MAB stall the fight and make it into a posing contest.
.......because of those facts, they knew that to win, JMM had to open himself up and take the fight to MAB, even if it meant Marquez would get hit with a few shots in the process.
I have no doubt in my mind that had it been a fight between two unknowns where the judges would tend to call it down the middle.....JMM would have went the boxing route and boxed MAB's ears off.

......as it was under the circumstances he was in, JMM turned hunter, and throughout the fight landed cleaner and harder, and except for the flashknockdown that he suffered, was in control for most of the fight.

 You're the best thing to ever happen to Marquez, who doesn't seem to be pulling his weight in the ring in comparison to your inflated talk.

imo, Marquez won the fight there is no doubt, but it was close, regardless.
also remember Barrera was on the way out. A prime 4 prime fight would of been different.

what kinda bull**** is that?, how about he gets his 4th division title, and then goes back down to 135, and defends his title 25 times. that would surpass Sanchez achievements, and get closer to Chavez's, but i wont happen.
