move...don't just stand there and let pw find his range/rythym/timing. and when i say move i don't just mean circle one way either (to his right). disrupt his timing with a good jab. follow the jab up.
Danm!! Plastic man took a beating from Quintana in the OG. (Forgot about that fight, Must be the HBO brainwashing...) IMO, Martinez must keep the lanky Williams guessing w/side to side movement & alot of lead left hands followed by hooks, Willy has a good chin but is a guppy for "Hooks". As a WW, Paul looks awkward as ****... (As evidence by the first Q fight) 154lbs and beyond, Williams looks alot better. that said War! Martinez!
Well he''ll have to do a lot of things but the things he usually does. Give Williams lateral movement which upsets his workrate,Paul ain't the best at cutting the ring off, keep a high workrate, probably more than his usual one.One thing I like is that in order to hit Williams and get away without getting hit is that you have to take risks and go in and out,Martinez does that very well. One thing he doesn't do is keep his hands up nad that will cost him. This fight will show us if Williams has indeed improved sicne the Quintana I fight since Martinez is very much like Quintana.Think he's faster and punches harder but I don't expect as poor performance from Williams as there. Williams should be favored,Martinez is way,way to easy to hit.
Move alot. Throw those crisp combinations he does as often as he can. He can work the body very well (Saul Roman KO) and he def should do so to maybe take away some of PW's stamina and workrate. He should also clinch often to break PW's rythym. Would also help if he had some sort of a guard, although he has that bad habit of hands low stance. Counterpunching will also be key and PW's somewhat gun-slinging and wild offense is quite vulnerable to counters. Judging by the great shape Sergio is in, I think he really has a shot. Not to beat around the bush, but SM is in simply amazing shape for this one. I think the Cintron robbery has really motivated and fired him up. Imo this could surprisingly turn out to be one of the most competitive and better fights of the year.
Don't think he can win... He shouldn't atleast He starts slow & gasses late He isn't high activity He isn't overwhelmingly strong As long as paul does what he normally does... Martinez should eventurally run out of fuel
He can always foul. Pay off the ref and judges. Run all fight and say he was robbed. Fake an Injury and get a NC :rasta
