anybody who says heart is a complete moron.... the guy showed heart when he fought on with broken hands, if that was cintron in there against hatton... hatton would have folded him if cintron was under that kind of pressure.... but mayweather toughed it out. He showed heart in the castillo fights. he doesnt lack heart, will, determination... anything intangible like that. Id say power.... but its all relative. if he was fighting at 140, against natural 140lbers.... he would have that power. At 147, his weaknesses are size and power.... sometimes imo workrate. but hes smart about it.
I don't consider it a weakness of Floyd's that no current fighters possess the skill or work ethic to truly challenge him. Oscar and Shane brought the best out of each other, they had to put it all out there to succeed. Kostya Tszyu would have probably been that opponent for Floyd. People are so stuck on this idea that you have to throw 100 punches a round to beat Floyd. How many times are we going to throw the same style at him? Tszyu was accurate and could counter well enough that the shots he did land would be noticeably worthwhile. Getting the better of those exchanges will force Floyd to pick his shots less carefully.
he has plenty of heart..... to stay composed in as many fights as he did takes heart and get shook (corley & judah to my knowledge) and not go back in fear... takes heart
bump, anyone that says power is a ****ing nutjob also. How can you knock someone down without a decent amount of power? No way in hell does he lack power
Your right he's not a combination puncher. He's not too offensive and not the type of fighters that excites the crowd. I don't consider that a flaw, but it's something he does lack.
I can't believe people think Mayweather lacks heart. Anyone that gets up at 1 in the morning to go for a 5 mile run has plenty heart.
Mayweather lacks guys who make him look bad. no one has been close enough in terms of skill to do that and we have taken that for granted. he throws combos more accurately than any other, goes for the kill, opens up and rips opponents apart but all only when the opportunity arises. he doesnt waste his punches. he needs better competition who fickle boxing fans will recognize as being great. after he beats them then they become champs after he retires he will get the respect for his complete skill set until then we will debate about how he doesnt do this or that or that he will never be among the rankings of srr.
