Beat top contender or other titlists and keep winning. Simple as that.

-He would need more title defenses. 7 or 8 more title defenses would be great.

    -Beat Montiel and more contenders.

By doing that, I would put him in the 115lbs. all time great list. I think it would be easier to be in the HOF.

a couple of things that would help are moving up to fight Marquez

    unifying.

    beating donaire.

a couple of knockouts in there wouldn't hurt. Some real dominating wins.

Unify the 115 lbs titles . . . go up to 118 and dominate.

There's no more big names at 115 after Montiel. If he can beat the two time world champion Gerry Penaloza at 118 . . . then it's gonna be another feather in his shoulder.

I say beating Montiel, Donaire & Darch should put him in.. Unifying and winning more convincing fights, even though sometimes the judges seem to score his fights awkwardly..

Darchinyan would be a lot like Arce for Mijares' resume, i.e., a significantly big name for the lower weight classes due to his personality and style, but someone who would pose little threat to Mijares.

I think if he beats Montiel, he does not have that much farther to go. He presumably would want to move up to 118 and see what he could do. However, I doubt Penalosa will still be around by the time he gets there. Regardless, even if he was, I don't think he's the fighter than many make him out to be. Jhonny Gonzalez, as he is apt to do, was boxing circles around him until he got caught with a very lucky body punch. I don't think Mijares would have any trouble with him, especially given his advanced age.

hahaha, how ridiculous... On the brink of crossing the HOF line??? WTF FOR? All he has done is beat a bunch of solid contenders. They don't just induct ANYONE you know? To answer the question though, unifying the division would probably be suffice with guys like Montiel and Donaire maybe Darchinyan as well on his resume.

unify with montiel. darchinyan/kirilov are'nt good, so imo the winner of montiel-mijares is the man. probably pick up that trinket ibf some time down the line just to say he held them all. fight donaire. give castillo a shot at redemption. defend the superfly title a few times then jump to bantam. before doing so, he can probably take on koki kameda to provide us with comedy. take a belt from someone good like penalosa (if he's still around that is. even in his advanced age the guy is still a good fighter). i still consider a win over sidorenko a nice win even though he apparently loss this week. in short just keep on seeking out the toughest fights.

I have this funny feeling that Mabuza-Mijares will in fact happen eventually. And that day will be one of the most difficult ever for me as a fan.

That would be a great fight:yep. Mabuza is legit and could realistically beat anyone in the division now that his Daddy (Rafa) is gone.

I noticed Silence won a fight against Marchiano on the weekend by TKO5. Marchiano is the same guy Abner Mares hit like 500 times and couldn't finish him - Mabuza flattened him. Bring on Mijares vs Mabuza in a year or two:good

I noticed that too...thanks for reminding me to bump his express. :D

This fight gives me butterflies and forms a knot of dread in my stomach at the same time - for one of them will have to lose. :verysad
