I'll see the Mayweather-Mosley fight for the first time today on HBO.......

.......but from what I've been told of the Mosley fight, I think its say's alot about Mayweather's respect for Marquez' counterpunching skills that he would spend alot more time on the backfoot against Marquez, than he did against the much stronger Mosley, who from what I hear Mayweather was walking down......

.....and alot of you people did'nt even see the Mayweather-Marquez fight, there was a few rounds in there that were fought competively, and I believe Marquez won 2 and maybe a third in that fight.

I'll guarantee you all one thing.......if Mayweather would have been as aggressive against Marquez as he was vs Mosley, we would have witnessed a competitive fight.
......Mayweather of course knows this, which is the reason Mayweather did'nt go that route vs Marquez.

There is a simple reason why many in this forum simply dismiss Marquez as a threat above 135 lbs......
Its the same reason why people dismissed Evander Holyfield as a threat when he climbed up to Heavyweight.

Like Holyfield, Marquez does'nt simply enter the ring to run over and overwhelm fighters like Tyson, and Manny Pacroid now does.......

Like Holyfield, Marquez has to establish a base and build a body of framework (called boxing) to accomplish his goal.

By history, the casual uneducated fan sees the overwhelming fighter as more accomplished as the feats are being accomplished......

......Fortunately, history also looks and establishes fighters like Marquez and Holyfield in better light when all is said and done.:yep:bbb

Marquez has all the skills needed 2 b a champ. He has the heart 2 take him far places. His footspeed isn't what it used 2 b. PAC has those quick reflexes nd fleet feet. Pacquiao reminds me of a fighting **** or a classic Staffy or Pit Bull that iz very very quick nd smart with a very hard mouth that'll go hard every second its breathing.

Marquez is an elite talent. No doubt. Also, he fights da best, win or lose. Dats Heart.

Jmm put a great fight up...Just was trying to think with floyd and ITS CLEAR BY NOW YOU HAVE TO "OUTFIGHT" FLOYD NOT "OUTTHINK" HIM...cuz if u try to out think him he'll just pick u apart and he'll be lookin for openings why u "thinkin" still

u know what..i read this post twice cuz at first i laughed at the end with the PED Sh1t...But the second time I read it I actually agree with you...THOUGH IT CANT BE SEEN AT THIS POINT, AND ONLY CIRCUMSTANCIAL EVIDENCE HAS PRESENTED ITSELF (NO FACTUAL EVIDENCE), IT MAY BE TRUE THAT MANNY ENDS UP HAVING PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS CLOUD HIS CAREER...

I don't if Mayweather vs. Mosley says anything about Marquez skills in particular.

But I think everyone knows Marquez is an incredible boxer and I would lump him in the top tier of fantastic technical boxers with Mayweather, Hopkins, and Calderon to name a few. He is the goods.
