    Who? :huh

Kelly is going to retire B-Hop for GOOD!

Once Calzaghe sees what happens, he'll forget, again, he called out Kelly.

Is Pavlik fighting a 'senior'? I'd say: a P4P-er fighting a P4P-er... there's no more legitimate fight than a fight between P4P-ers, so defeating a P4P-er would mean a lot... especially as Hopkins is ranked higher by The Ring or by Dan Rafael than Kelly...

So he's fighting a guy who's better P4P, he can gain a top3 P4P spot if wins and fight Calzaghe for the P4P#1 status. Of course defeating Hopkins is a huge task, just ask Winky, Tarver or P4P#2 Calzaghe... And I'm betting against it... I'm with Hopkins on this one. Pavlik can gain a LOT of respect beating a still very good ATG...

To Pavlik's legacy&credit, this will do little. Not nothing, but little.

To Pavlik's bank account&popularity this will do good.

    1) The figure I read was $7.5 million smackers! That's a pretty good chunk of change for a guy who came to national attention less then 2 years ago.

    2) Pavlik is still very much in the learning curve. You can spar and watch tape, et, until your ass falls off, but that will not do for you what 10-12 rounds of actual boxing experience with a world class opponent will do.

    3) BHop is the Ring Magazine #2 LHW right now. If the MW champ moves up and beats the #2 LHW in the world, that is a pretty big deal.

    4) BHop is a better opponent than anyone else who was available. This shows Team Pavlik taking the high road.

    5) Faced with a choice of sitting on the sidelines for 8 months, or more, immediately before fighting either Abraham or Calzaghe, or fighting BHop, this fight is the right choice. It gives Kelly an interim fight with a quality opponent.

    6) BHop is #4 on the Ring Magazine p4p list. Pavlik is #7. This fight gives Kelly a chance to move up the food chain.

    7) A KO win, or clear UD, puts Calzaghe in a position where he pretty much has to retire, fight Pavlik, or get shot down in flames by the boxing community.

    8) Now humor me for a minute on this one: What if Pavlik beats Hopkins in October, and then beats Abraham and Calzaghe next year? That means he beat two future hall of fame fighters and three world titlists in about two years. That would be HUGE. No one in their right mind could question his resume'.

I'd say Pavlik has quite a lot to gain from fighting BHop!!

Excues me, but he's fighting the man that BEAT winky. After you destroy the man that went 32 rounds with winky (McKart) and then beat the man that BEAT Winky, there is no longer any reason to figure Wright into the equation. He becomes irellevant

Sergio Mora, John Duddy, Marco Rubio -> too easy of wins
Winky Wright, Hopkins, Calzaghe -> senior circuit
Arthur Abraham, Felix Sturm, Sebastian Slyvester -> Unavailable
Oscar Del Hoya, Paul Williams -> moving up too much in weight to take seriously
Allan Green, Winky wright -> deluded sense of own drawing power

I begin to think that Pavlik's in a no-win situation here. No matter who he picks to fight, somebody out there is going to complain about it.

Many see it as one of Calzaghe's greatest wins; I don't see how it sould be any different for Pavlik.

Pavlik was game to take on a big name, Calzaghe dropped the idea after seeing the Locket beatdown, so he turned to a game Hopkins.

He'll lose so the only gain is money. However if he actually did win then he'd see a considerable rise in status. People always say "oh, this is a lose-lose situation, no one will care, the other guy was shot", but inevitably the winning fighter does gain a heck of a lot.

    Lose-Lose situation? :blood

If Pavlik beats Hops easy, then he rightfully takes a top 5 p4p spot... cause our current p4p no. 3 (or 2 in some people's eyes) got a top 5 spot after beating the same Hops only a few months ago, and did so by a controversial SD.

If Pavlik beats Hops better than Cal (which he basically would do so if he just won in general; if the Hop-Cal fight was ANY closer, Hops would of won) it guarantee's him a Cal fight.
