What does Roger really do for Floyd?

I can see exactly where you're coming from on this, but the thing is,there are occasionally guys like Floyd who in their own way, transcend the sport and are always going to do their own thing, regardless of who trains them.I think Roger is a security blanket for Floyd.Someone he trusts and who does have the ability to see what needs seeing if so required.Floyd will do exactly what he wants 99.99% of the time so why not have family there just in case.
Hopkins(IMO) very rarely listened to Nazim from what I could see. Some guys are just that way and genuinely believe they know it all.

When you have a great boxing IQ like Floyd often it seems like he does everything by himself, they always have good gameplan thst Floyd does in the ring so there is no need for Roger to bull**** and try to sound smart like Atlas often does!

I agree, but I also think too often times trainers get to much credit when fighters win, and too much blame when they lose. Fortunately for team Mayweather they haven't experienced the later, but I think it's more to Floyd being a great student than it is Roger being a great trainer.

Teddy Atlas over teaches to the point of frustration. I'll never forget how he talked to Michael Moorer during his fight with Foreman in between rounds. It was how a parent talks to a child, I remember thinking to myself I couldn't respond to what Altas was saying simply because of HOW he was saying it. And although Atlas WAS right when he said Foreman was looking to set him up, Moorer seemed like he wasnt trying to hear it, and the rest is history. Moorer to this day hates to hear that:)

He gets Floyd ready for the fights

and is just a motivator in there but i do think if Floyd were to really be losing a fight he could give the right advice

Look at any fight Floyd is struggling in. Roger gives good advice in the Castillo fight, Oscar, Judah etc. I'll give examples.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0mzbk6j2Xw&feature=player_detailpage#t=258s
Listen to Roger in the corner before round 11. He tells Floyd he's the faster fighter and tells him to go out there and mix it up. Then Floyd goes out there in round 11, goes into the pocket and wins it on my and Lederman's scorecard.

    Against Oscar
Roger: "Keep tapping him with the jab, down the stretch you gonna get his ass. Don't worry down the stretch, let the ***** get tired a bit. He ain't doing **** anyway, he just walking in.
Keep the jab working, keep the feint working and stay off the rope when you don't have to. Every now then get on it, but don't stay on the ropes for so long "

And if you watch the fight, that's exactly what Floyd did

Now in between rounds of the Carlos Hernandez fight was beautiful. Watch from the beginning until the start of the 7th round. Floyd comes into the fight with his right hand hurt. Then in the 6th round he hurts his left hand and has to take a knee (meaning both his hands are injured). In the corner, he pulls the reverse Vitali and tells Roger he can't quit and it's already understood by Roger that Floyd isn't going to do that.
Roger gives Floyd to tactical advise to keep feinting him, jab and paw with the jab to draw him in with the right uppercut.

    :deal

Yoel Judah: "Zab get in there and show some magic, Hadoken tiger uppercut him, followed with a kapow brooklyn style!"
" I need to see fireworks, boom bap, pap, poop, smack daddy kat slam on him Zab!!!"
