MichiganWarrior claims that being floored means being stunned. he says this because he was adamant that pascal got floored in the pittman fight, he said this without watching the fight. after watching the fight and realising he was wrong, he tried saying "floored" means to be stunned. you know like floyd vs corely stunned, where you have to hold on, or floyd vs mosley stunned. so i ask you, esb, what does "floored" mean to you.
Floored to me is when a punch knocks you down hard, not necessarily for the count, but clearly not a flash knockdown or stumble. When the power of a punch puts you on the floor, back or ass. ...Or face.
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that the term "floored" implies that a fighter has been put on the canvas i.e. the floor.
if you're stunned, you're rocked. If you're floored, that means someone put you on the ass. On the floor. They put you on the grooooound.
As you can see its mostly Brits answering. I suspect its usage is different in Britain from America For instance UFC fighter Guillard floored by Hurricane Katrina http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2005/Sep-16-Fri-2005/sports/3393537.html He wasnt literally "knocked down" by hurricane katrina
