What does the term "floored" mean to you

Being floored doesn't even just mean knocked down. It means knocked down hard (ie flash/balance KDs don't count).

Floored and decked are both terms for a strong legitimate knockdown.

Dropped somewhat shares the connotation but can sometimes refer to flash or off-balance knockdowns, or even gloves brushing the canvas or taking a knee.

Nope. I used floored in the connotation given in the dictionary, as he to stun/overwhelm.

I never for a moment said Pascal was knocked down or even implied that he was.

Just because you have to use semantics of what connotates floored in the great boxing dictionary that doesnt exist, doesnt mean that I was acting in a similar fashion.


But really this thread is like the whos who of those i've owned in boxing debates, its hilarious seeing so many losers harping on something so insignificant as the phrase "floored" because they lack the knowedge to discuss real boxing.

 

It doesn't mean to physically stun. It means to shock, to emotionally overwhelm.

 

Funny thing is the fight that started all this, Pascal/Pitman, is pretty much irrelevant now. It's obvious that Pascal still had shoulder problems in that fight, and it is equally obvious that he has improved a great deal over the past couple years.

The Pavlik/McKart fight that I referenced is probably irrelevant now as well. However, the posters who talk **** about it do their case more harm than good. It makes no seperation between the physical. Unless you believed you cant be shocked or stunned by a punch?
