    Is the "prison guard' analogy cultural?

    I simply find it amusing to use "prison guard" to denote a wife's persona.

    It sounds so...........

    To me it means a nag who complains whenever you wanna go out with mates etc.

    Other similar labels are "the boss" and "the ball and chain" my favourite is "the battle axe" :lol:
