We all know that Tito has a dismal chance against RJJ. Lets face it; if he wins it could potentially be the upset of the year. What does he need to do to win the fight?
pressure pressure pressure. he can't wear himself out either looking for an early ko against china chin. tito needs to keep throwing punches which i think can be hard for him as he gets easily discouraged.
Right on. I was going to suggest that he needs to stay active and throw LOTS of punches,,,but with all the extra weight that just doesn't seem very realistic. Perhaps he needs to go SRL and try to be flashy and throw 10+ punch combos 3 or 4 times a round to win the crowd over and get the "ooo's" and "ah's"?
Like the posters said, constant yet effective pressure is the key to victory. Dig to the body and working his way up is what he needs to do. Basically, he needs to fight like his life is on the line.
I'm thinking the best chance Tito has is if making the 170Ib weight limit really drains Roy and he looks lethargic, his body has allready taken a ton of abuse and this might be very tough for him
Any type of power shot will rattle Jone's at this point, saying his chances are dismal is just ignorant.
Well seriously now,,,his chances are pretty horrible. He's fighting how many weight classes above his weight? How many fights has he had recently? Not saying RJJ is in fantastic shape or anything, but his chances of pulling this off are horrible. You say any type of power shot will rattle RJJ,,,,but does Tito have any power at this weight?
I don't know who his promoter is now but he needs to sign under GBP. He will surely get his W if this is the case. Unless RJJ is also under GBP.
He needs to either catch Jones with a huge shot he doesn't see coming and finish him off/put him into a shell and wear him down or apply effective pressure, keep Roy from getting into a rhythm, cut off the ring, and work downstairs and upstairs. He cannot give Roy too much time to think and he cannot allow Roy to make this a boxing match in the center of the ring. Tito can't get too wild and careless either because Roy still has some explosiveness left.
