'Best' is ability or who beats who if they were the same weight. 'Greatness' is resume and dominance, possibly even historical significance. So you can have someone like Charlie Burley on a p4p best list, but not an atg list. Some people like to try to show off by putting less accomplished fighters on atg lists, but they don't belong. We need to make this distinction and make two lists!

Cool, hopefully you don't think Mayweather is one of the Greatest 15 boxers ever anymore, unless you're new to boxing and haven't learned about boxers of the past.

    Benny Leonard
    Roberto Duran
    Jack Johnson or Gene Tunney

Its like splitting hairs. You could include so many great boxers it really is such an amazing sport. You could pluck names out and replace them with Monzon, Whitaker, Dempsey, Joe Gans, Sam Langford, JCC, Jimmy Wilde, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, and more mostly because it is subjective but also because there were many great fighters.

This would be different though if you asked who the best ever are from a h2h perspective.

That makes sense. I mean, if you look at footage of Eder Jofre he sure looks as good as Floyd Mayweather, even though he doesn't have as good a resume. So I guess you could have them even on a p4p list but rank Floyd higher on a greatness list.

This changes all the time but here you go:

    1. Harry Greb: Don't need to see film. Seen plenty of film on HOF guys he beat back-to-back-to-back. Beat 16 HOF guys or some crazy thing like that. 52-0 in a year or something.

    2. Sam Langford

    3. Ray Robinson

    4. Bob Fitzsimmons

    5. Henry Armstrong

    6. Roberto Duran

    7. Ezzard Charles

    8. Julio Cesar Chavez

    9. Willie Pep

    10. Archie Moore

Honorable Mention: Jimmy Wilde, Benny Leonard, Joe Louis, Ali, Jersey Joe, Barney Ross, Jack Dempsey, Jack Johnson, Stanley Ketchel, Salvador Sanchez
