If you want a dumb answer for a dumb question look no further! Elevate himself to that of a fighter that is considered one of the best fighters of his generation

He needs to fatten up the resume. Unify the division which would add about 3 more title defenses of his current belt. Win big in big fights helps a lot. That would be a start.

    1) Quillin is overrated.
    2) Quillin wants NOTHING to do with GGG.

If he can beat the Cotto/Canelo winner, unify, and then win some belts at SMW. LHW might be a step too far.

I'd have no problem with staying at MW for his entire career and unifying, though.

I think he'd handle Jack & De Gale right now in all honesty.

A lot will come down to what his opposition go on to achieve. Right now the future looks relativley bleak for most of his victims. I'm sure everyone is well aware of this though.

I'm pretty certain Proksa, Macklin, Stevens, Geale, Rubio, and Murray were all ranked by Ring when GGG stopped them.

I doubt that Stevens was a top-10 middleweight when he fought Golovkin, but the rest definitely were.

If Golovkin was smart, I think he keeps carving up 160 and does so 4 times a year. At that rate, he could break Hopkins' mark in less than 3 years.

    I can't win !
When I post a positive piece on an old time great fighter like a Greb or Robinson or Ike Williams I am labeled a "nostalgia " freak.
And when I rave about a modern fighter like an Alexis Arguello or one of my very favorites Gennady Golovkin as I have from the start, I am chastised by some saying "who did GGG ever fight " ?. Or a Hagler would "kill him'.
Ah, those "old time sentimentalists ". Can't win I say...

Who has he beat? He keeps fighting white guys everyone knows he is going to beat. GGG still is untested.

Wrong on both accounts, once again GGG fans over rating his ability. He did show good boxing skills today, but for him to be considered to have the best chin in the history of middleweights he would need to take numerous bombs from heavyweights, then you can say he has the best chin in MW history. Which would most likely go to James Toney, even the bombs Hagler took from Hearns are a completely different level to David Lemmings.

As for power when he puts people to sleep with one punch like Julian Jackson did then you put him in the same sentence.

To be fair, Curtis' salesmanship of that fight was at a top 5 level, at worst. That was a tremendous rankings boost to compensate for his lack of meaningful in-ring victories going into it.
