What else does GGG need to do to be considered an ATG?

    No, it's true.

    Do a quick Google search.

The only circular reasoning is what you just created, because you defined it. I don't happen to agree with your definition.

Most people have a tendency to elevate opponents of now retired greats. For example, Hagler is viewed as a god because of what he did to Tommy. But let's not forget Tommy had a suspect chin and Leonard beat Hagler. I don't think Leonard would beat GGG. Contrasting styles is what fighting is all about. Or said another way, styles make fights. I think GGG beats Tommy and SRL and depending on how it played out, flip a coin with Hagler. They both are capable of knocking each other out. The interesting thing, though, is I have never seen GGG rocked. I have seen him blink but never even wobbled. So, we don't know what would happen with a Hagler/GGG fight. Hagler is an ATG but so is GGG.

It's also pure conjecture, so the discussion is entirely theoretical. No point in anyone getting worked up over it.

He's likely already done enough to make it to the hall of fame, and a win over Canelo would be his first real quality win though I suspect (if that fights goes ahead) Golovkin will just overpower the Mexican as most figured so it won't be free from criticism.

He could stay at 160 lbs. to fatten his legacy but that career-rocketing fight spells Andre Ward at 168 lbs., arguably unfair but such are the circumstances.

If I'm a pig tit, then you're the runt. You ever see those cartoons where a mother pig is feeding her babies, and the smallest piglet tries to find a teat to suck on, but can't, because they're all taken? That's you.

Most ATGs do it at multiple weights. He's not come up against someone who will even be a HOFer yet, let alone another ATG. Clear to see he's an immense talent, but he's got lots to do before he reaches ATG status.

In fact the Pretty in Pink supposed linear champ claims he's not a middleweight so cannot fight him ROFLMAO:patsch

Geale and Macklin were top 10. One was a former champ and one should have been a champ.

    Murray was top 10, too.

Within the last 3-4 years those guys have been top 5.

Exactly. He has fought anyone and everyone willing to fight him in the MW division. Anyone who is critical of who he has fought doesn't understand that GGG can only fight those who are willing to fight him. I think he has the same mindset as Canelo in that he will not duck anyone. Now, Canelo has to prove this after he defeats Cotto. He should be the next mandatory for GGG, the winner of that fight.

I'm pointing out the fallacy of your claim. How is it my claim if I'm outlining your details? LOL you funny man.

using three actual top ATGs doesn't do your argument favours.

yeah if its broken don't fix it mate. u go with that philosophy.

he has fought three now. but he has started very late. I am not sure he can maintain it for long considering his warrior style and hes 34 soon. That's why he needs to get a move on to establish a legacy - 3 decent defences isn't a legacy.

Lemieux was the 7th top 10 Ring rated middleweight he's knocked out in the last three years.
